REG editJPE Easy is just a front GUI interface for editJPE.exe that is decribed in jauntePE documentation readme.html>The Examples>Portable Reg Editing>editJPE Example. The front GUI will help you to set up editJPE_jauntePE.ini config and run the editJPE.exe. It is writen using Autoit and but still need to be powerd by JauntePE.Thus, credits given to redllar, the jauntePE creator.

Features
-gui interface
-drag & drop support
-parameter support to quickly open the reg file in editJPE.exe without opening the front gui first. Found it more useful if the .reg extension is associate to Reg editJPE Easy.exe in the ShellDocApp plugin. This way, double-click the .reg file will be quickly open the reg file in editJPE on the fly :)

The parameter
Code:
REG editJPE Easy.exe "path to reg file"

What is editJPE?
editJPE is actually the Microsoft Registry Editor that is redirected by jauntePE using a set of config settings. By editJPE, we can view a .reg file
with Microsoft Registry Editor interface rather than opening a .reg file with text editor. Thus it is much more easy to view/edit the jauntePE portable .reg file

Download REGedit JPE Easy v0.3.zip (475.18 KB)

Very nice...
It would be even nicer if it could also open RegHive files created by SandBoxie... :)

Later edit: BRILLIANT !!! It helped me change one key value for 7zip so I think finally the shell extension is portable inside 7zFM :) !
[I think some more paths (icons etc.) should be changed also, but the start is very promising.]

I couldn't find "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{23170F69-40C1-278A-1000-000100020000}\InprocServer32\" key among those Hex values that Notepad showed when opening 7zip.reg file.

Thank you man !!! :)

editJPE was already exist long..long ago in the start of public Build14 but i'm glad i could point out its usefulness.

RegPad also works similar like editJPE and we can use it to edit the normal .reg file. But the download link seem to be dead. It is also created by redllar. If anyone have this app could you please share it with us

Update the jauntepe portable launcher and runtime dll to new Build19. Thanks to redllar. He quickly solve the bugs when reg browsing apps can show the same subkey name multiple times

There is nothing much change for front gui except changing the "Run" button into "View reg" button.

How about an "always on top" feature, for easier "drag & drop" support ?

Add parameter support so that i could assosiate .reg file to REG editJPE Easy.exe in ShellDocApp plugin. You can also add-and-drop the reg file into the REG editJPE Easy.exe to quickly open the editJPE without facing the front gui first

@ joby_toss
Hi, I am new to the forums here and JauntPE, but there is an app to view RegHive files in Sandboxie. It is called WRR by mitec. I made a portable version using JauntPE (it writes settings to HKLM I believe). I would be very happy to post it here for you to check it out (if it is really portable), if this does not cause problems with forum guidelines etc.
Let me know,
Mark

In fact this is what I'm using for quite some time now... Thanks!

I don't use a JPE version of it because the reg entries are irrelevant and can be easily removed.

I don't have much time right now (work work work) and I also bought a new laptop and it has Vista (yakhh...) and I don't have all my softwares available ... It's gonna take me at least a week to configure it the way I need ...

I know the registry entries are not that significant, but I wanted to test JauntPE and this seemed like a good place to start; nice and simple for a noob!
Anyway, good luck getting your laptop set up the way it should be.

Sure, just make a new topic in this subforum so users can easily find your creation and for the discussion
