TextMaker Viewer from SoftMaker lets you open, view, and print documents from Microsoft Word, TextMaker, OpenDocument as well as other common office file formats.
TextMaker Viewer is free and can be freely distributed. So, if you send a document not knowing whether your recipient has installed the respective application, just point him to www .officeviewers.com!
TextMaker Viewer is based on the technology of TextMaker 2008, the powerful word processor in the office suite SoftMaker Office 2008.

.rtf Rich Text Format
.dot Microsoft Word templates 6.0 up to 2007
.psw Pocket Word (Pocket PC)
.tmd TextMaker 6.0 up to 2008
.pwd Pocket Word (Handheld PC)
.odt OpenDocument Text
.htm/html HTML documents
.sxw OpenOffice.org/StarOffice Text
.txt Text files (DOS, Windows, Unicode, UTF-8)

SoftOffice 2006 and 2008 use this method...

Try adding a Dummy file "portable.txt" in the executable directory and all settings will be saved to an ini file. No need for JauntePE in this case.

Was this already mentioned before on TPFC? Is this documented somewhere on the home page of the application? If so, shame on me! :(
Anyway, your method does the trick.

The full version of Softmaker 2006 and 2008 is made Portable by running an included app called "USBSTICK.EXE" all it does is create the dummy file. Tried the same method on the viewer and it worked!
