Onesimus Prime wrote:I really appreciate the capability to output to "the directory of each file loaded." I think I did find a bug in that, however. When working with a subfolder like "languages", it is included in the program's .zip now - but it's also made into a separate languages.zip file! So that seems to be a "remnant" of the previous method?
Can you verify that this issue is present only if you use the modality "Compress - zip - Single archive per folder"? thanks..

Verified, using that modality (and in .7z too) using "single archive per folder" - are you not able to reproduce this?

What did you mean by "only if you use the modality..."? I'm not trying to do Single archive per file...

Yes, it isn't a bug, even if may be I'll change it in the next release.. the modality is "single archive per folder", so create a new archive each folder loaded..it means that it doesn't discern between a main folder and a subfolder.
Works go on

Alright :)
My original suggestion concerning that (in my first post) was actually to have a third option for the functionality I'm describing, "single archive per Parent folder". So that wouldn't eliminate your current functionality, but also provides one which I think many users would find helpful.

As always, it's your program, so take or leave what you want from my suggestions.

ATA is still being plenty useful to me for portable decompression, at present!

I tried to do my best, this the change log:

v1.2 (19-10-2008)
- improved performance
- added more info about compression/decompression modalities
- added "remember" compress/decompress state at startup
- added "Single archive per parent folder" mode
- fixed some minor bugs

try it and tell me what you think

Another week of works, another improved release:

v1.3 (25-10-2008)
- improved performance
- improved status bar
- added checking of duplicates in the list
- modified upx compression modes
- fixed the "Stop" button
- fixed some minor bugs

Now this app is stable and well featured, you can add it in the PortableFreeware database if you want.. as upxer and multi-compressor.. fully portable and less than 1MB, it try to be the successor of software like UPX Tool and UPXShell (with a more clear and complete set of features), but also like multi-compression apps (that are shareware and supports only zip format).

Should be listed on portable freeware. (I.M.H.O)

Great tool for Ziping up all (many many) my video game rom files fast. (I got them unzip on a CD from a friend)

+

Makes most portable apps on a person flash driver smaller & faster. (took me some time to find this out, should be stated on home page)

Got my "RulesPlayer" app folder size down from 17.5 MB to 6.68 MB.

Yes, one of the purposes of this software is to compress lots of files like roms in zip. The other main purpose is the upx compression of many files all together ;)

I think this app could like to all users that use upx compressors..

I have updated it to the new version 1.6.0...With this new release I'm starting to add the support for decompression of more formats (now UPX, 7z, ZIP, CAB, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB):

v1.6.0 (19-06-2009)
- improved performance
- added decompression of more formats
- fixed some minor bugs

If some users retain useful the extraction of other formats, I could think to add support for other formats like RAR, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS...

I'll need to migrate to 7z.exe with 7z.dll (instead of command line version 7za.exe), that support more formats but is also bigger in size..

Can you test the new feature of extraction? It allow to extract archives of different formats all together in one click, eventually creating a new folder for each archive..
Now by default is also disabled the checker of duplicates and it makes the file listing many times faster.

ps: can you consider to add it in the database?
