I personally don't think it will be a big problem as the media has made out. For Example who remembers the Millennium Bug? Correct...No One! :)

More details here too (for those interested): http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... hp?p=30424

Your right - its not a big problem personally for most. But for serious software and companies who cannot go down...
Every file, field and program has to be checked and tested - no kidding a masive effort.
I do indeed remember the Millennium Bug, it was for me a 12 month contract.

wouldn't be so much of a problem yes, but that is not what I was talking about :P, I saying how it affects people, Good, bad, I predict that there will be some problems, Murphy's Law states anything that can go wrong will go wrong, albeit most likely small.

OK... it won't affect anyone because no one will really know about it. Of course I am talking general here for the normal everyday Internet user. I think people would only notice the change if their Internet speed increased by 100%! :)

I think people would notice if their internet speed decreased 100% too! ;)
And unavailability of some sites is such drastic decrease. But I don't think it will be that bad either.

The IPv6 address space is so massive that everyone on Earth can have 48,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of them.
