      Key features:
      Automatic care in background;
      Optimize, clean and boost the speed of your Windows;
      Protect your privacy and security;

      Fix certain application errors;
      Simple, fast and User friendly interface;
      Much much more powerful utilities!
http://www.glarysoft.com/products/utili ... ities-pro/

Tip: "Setup.exe" is the app installer, no GAOTD security bundled. Install it (preferably using Sandboxie) , activate using "Activate.exe" and check the registry branch [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GlarySoft\Glary Utilities] or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\GlarySoft\Glary Utilities] if you're on 64 bit OS, for the "juice". :wink: (put the installer and the juice away, for a rainy day)

Tip no.2: download the official portable package http://download.glarysoft.com/guportable.zip and replace the files of the freeware version in the App subfolder with the files from the GAOTD pro version. Use the juice and you got yourself a portable Pro version (but not stealth; the registry is not cleaned).

Note: juice is in the readme file; temp trick works just fine in this case (to get the real setup file).

Which temp directory do you exactly mean?

Execute the GAOTD setup package today and allow it to connect to the internet, then stop (do not finish the installation). Check your system's "Temp" folder (in Local settings) for a new hidden .tmp file. Copy it somewhere else (you may close the installation window at this point). Rename it using the .exe extension and change the hidden attribute. This is the real setup file for XYPlorer. You can extract it using 7zip or save it for some other time, the GAOTD "today" restriction does not apply to it anymore. ;)

i can't get the "trick" to work..tried a few times. while i copy & rename the file, i keep getting a message that the file is broken.
can't execute it, nor extract it..
However, i found that if you install the app & then copy the files somewhere else & delete the .ini file, you can run it portably.

Install it using Sandboxie (it has a free version, too).

I tried jobys trick in Virtual Box and it works. There's 2 hidden files in the %temp% directory. One of them is 0 bytes, the other should be the installer.

Which INI file?? (I only found Startup.ini) Can anyone confirm a need to remove it??

Here is what my INI says:
Startup.ini wrote:[Appdata]
Path=%appdata%\XYplorer

Startup.ini tells XYplorer where to store the configuration/settings files. If you delete it/clear the path address

Code: Select all

[Appdata]
Path=
then it will save them in "Data" folder in the application folder.
