Tested this, but settings seem to reset whenever the database is changed -- can you confirm?

Also, in order to keep every extra file contained in a 'Data' folder, what's the easiest way to move 'settings.reg' there?

I created two Collections and there was no reset when I loaded them (combined with restarting the application). So I could not reproduce but perhaps I am missing something.

Moving settings.reg: did you try "settings.reg" -> "Data\settings.reg"?

I rechecked and not really all settings get reset, only interface customizations like the arrangement of the main window elements, the visibility of the Ribbon and changes to the Quick Access Toolbar...

I made the change you suggested in the [REGISTRY KEYS] section and everything seems to be working. Thanks. :)

Glad to hear that. One should use a software for a longer period to know it better and make a better portable out of it, I only checked to take care of the settings.

But as it sounds it is the ribbon again to blame, isn't it? :)

Btw, adding *all* ribbon items to the Quick Access eliminates the need of the whole ribbon :)

  • Totally agree. :)

  • It is to blame; I don't want to learn yet another interface detour to do my thing when the old one was working just fine. I got better ways to squander my time -- like playing OpenTTD (can't believe that didn't get into the database yet)... :mrgreen:

  • That's what I did, BTW. ;)
