64-bit Basic implementations

#1 Post by Midas »

Following up on some lenghty yet informative discussions here a TPFC's forums (see "Related topics" below), I'm baiting further debate by posting recently found examples of multi-platform OSS 64 bits Basic implementations:
Related topics:
Note: FreeBasic seems to have evolved into 64 bitness, too (check http://www.freebasic.net/get).

QB64 has a Wikipedia Page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QB64 linking to the QB64 website: https://qb64.com/

Check at the bottom of the page for this note:

What about the qb64.net website/domain?
Please make note that the .net domain for QB64 is highly suspect. Apparently the story goes that someone forgot to renew the domain name and it was snipped by a questionable party that subsequently mirrored the previous websites information and spammed it with dubious advertising. At this point it has nothing to do with QB64 and, ultimately, should be completely avoided given that the content could contain suspect binaries potentially containing malware. Additionally, it’s been stated in the community has potentially having malware as part of the site - potentially infecting your machine by simply browsing to it. So, in the end, if you do venture there be sure to exercise caution.

OP is almost 10 years old, ante-dating the hijacking event to the best of my knowledge...

Anyway, post amended. Good call, juverax. 8)
