It's much easier (on the mind) to assume that every app you're using has privacy issues and adapt your actions accordingly than to wake up reading articles like this...

Sadly, yes. But that caused me to stop using my so called smartphone for anything remotely sensitive...

Interestingly nowadays we give money to companies to let them know anything about us...

Heck, we're buying TV's for more than half a century thinking we're in for a treat when it comes to entertainment...

Yeah me too.  I hadn't tested it on Windows because it's closed-source but they have some of the best usability I've seen on a mobile device.  Sadly, they didn't seem to keep up with older devices like mine as it crashes quite a bit.

Please enlighten us with a better list or else some substantive reasons why some particular software on the list might be bad... :|
Hey buddy, long time no hear :)

I accidentally came across your post and only after having read it I realized it was you who posted it... I couldn't have written that concept better myself even if tried!

All the best,

Many thanks for the heads up, my dear spicydog. 8)

BTW, here's a couple of Android related online resources I've been using lately -- but only useful if you are able and willing to sideload apps:
The later two allow anyone to download directly from Google Play to your desktop instead of your device.

Thanks, dear friend :D

I personally use http://www.apkpure.com/ that seems to work quite fine to download .apk files directly to the lap/desktop.

A few months back I used http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ but I oftentimes noticed that some apps aren't updated and using the "request newer version" feature is slow and doesn't always provide best results.

  • I can confirm your observation about Evozi APK Downloader -- I only mentioned it because it was the original APK downloader service, issued from the folds of the mythic XDA-Devs forums... ;)

There are possible solutions -- unfortunately, most require a "rooted" device:
