jv16 Power Tools 2011 Free Unlimited License Giveaway

Software: jv16 PowerTools 2011
Website: http://www.macecraft.com

I know many members here frown upon software that is not free or portable.
I am also a fan of this but there are some instances where payware software do a very good job.

One of these is jv16 PowerTools: i use this to help me determine whether a software writes to the registry.

Why not use RegShot you ask? I do.
I use both... actually.. i virtualized jv16 PowerTools.

With RegShot, sometimes it's very hard to read the output log and determine whether the OS or the software created the registry entries.

With jv16, it's fast, simple, and the output log is very precise and easy to understand.
Here's a screenshot of the output: http://i54.tinypic.com/ok6ipd.png

Only downside is it does not scan system files, only the registry.

So in combination with RegShot, jv16 can help anyone with testing for stealth.

In addition, jv16 also contains multiple various tools relating to the registry.
Visit their website to find out.

The giveaway only lasts for 1 more day.. and the license they are giving out is an unlimited, lifetime license.

Thank you.

There were similar offers before. Search the forum for jv16 Power Tools. It can be made portable. Also, you can change the License name, open license.xbin with Notepad and change the line "Owner= "

i agree with TuneUp Utilities, it was great back in the days.
like many software, they accumulate in size/features and eventually becomes bloat :(

But with jv16.. they maintained to run a tight ship, and i feel they have improved their product.
- they now have a true 64-bit product, not a 32-bit emulator that runs on a x64bit machine.
- they have maintain the size as minimal as possible considering all the functions it provides.

I do wish they came out with a portable version.

You are amazing baas!
I was virtualizing with Xenofex, which is ok because it stores it's Sandbox cache in the registry.
Now you have freed me from this.

Only you can figure out things like this..

Thank you.

----------------------------
HOW TO MAKE PORTABLE
----------------------------

Thanks to Baas for mentioning this, i went and searched for the original post and found it here:
http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... v16#p24977

1. Just install in Sandbox and copy over the files
or
- Install in a Virtual Environment and copy over the files
2. Put the license file you downloaded from the giveaway into the same folder
3. Launch "jv16PT.exe".

Optionally: uncheck automatic updates in settings.

I tested for stealth and it is :)
It stores the settings in the same folder, you can also move it in "Settings".

Here's my RegShot report:

To Mods/Admins:
Feel free to merge this topic with the original, i should have searched first.

today is a sad day for me ..
i have been confronted with a situation where jv16 PowerTools missed registry keys :(

i was so high on jv16 solely for it's registry compare tool..
but i was proven wrong.. and after verifying a 2nd time.. it's clearly not a good tool to test for stealthibility.

anyone have a suggestion?
aside from RegShot ?

EDIT:
if anyone out there has problems or want a simple app. that can detect changes easily ..
Primo

what's great is it comes with Chkunin, which can translate the output log into a readable, understandable log :)

thanks to Baas, for finding this cool app. !
