local config file...

I tested it out in Sandboxie - if you make a blank "Q-Dir.ini" file in the directory, it will actually say " %UserName% (Portable)" on the bottom of its window and make local copies of the two files Queue mentioned. However, it does seem to still write to the registry, as he stat...

BonkEnc supports WinAmp "in_" plugins, like these.

I'm still pretty new to forums, this might not be good "netiquette"... please forgive (and inform!) me if so... In this thread , grannyGeek collected several great WinAmp plugins for use with 1by1 , and I just posted a few as well. But just to remind BonkEnc fans, most WinAmp input plugins...

Oh, just a reminder... BonkEnc also can use WinAmp "in_" plugins for formats to convert from - though you're still limited to the same 5 or so formats to convert to . Still, it greatly expands that program's functionality, making it my favorite portable audio converter. And many thanks for...

yet more 1by1 audio plugins...

Hello all, Well, I've got to admit that this post is partly inspired by redllar's recent departure. I've always kind of told myself, "I don't know how to do all this portable stuff and scripts and all, I'm working ~80 hours a week and don't have time to learn right now, etc." All that may ...

More info./? (Yes, a statement and a question)

Well, apparently Thinstall was acquired by VMWare about a half-month ago. I'm hoping that this will (eventually) result in a much more reasonable price for private/"small-time" users, but who knows. malikorx69, your mention of the license agreement makes me curious: how then are people/ent...

which version is the wrapper for?

Hi Queue,
Is your wrapper for the link in the first post, the beta in the second, or for either?

Thanks for making this, for those of us who don't know how yet!

Virtual Machine Network Services driver problem...

Hello again, I really enjoy your program, lococobra (or rather your wrapper, which lets me use this MS program ). When I start it, it gives me a "Caution - Virtual PC" window, saying "Virtual PC could not open the Virtual Machine Network Services driver...." It's not as debilitat...

Re: UPX Mass Compress

Slythfox's given link for UPX Mass Compress results in a "MySQL" error when trying to download the actual file. I did manage to get a copy from the Internet Archive cache of the page, located at the following address as of today (Nov. 19th, 2007): web.archive.org/web/20071120041123re_/http...

API hooking...

I was at SMarmotte's site (the maker of UPXShell ), and noticed there were two "lier" (liar?) programs that utilize API hooking. Don't know much about the subject in general, or if the underlying structure of one of these programs could be used with JauntePE. But SMarmotte is definitely aw...

Hmmm, not good. Glad to be aware of it, at least. As far as the antidote is concerned, M@tty, from reading the site it looks like the cure's packaged with the disease - does somebody trusted and established on this forum (a Mod. would be good) maybe want to download Hacksaw, extract just the antidot...

general st00pid n00b question...

I'm not really used to forums (as you might guess by my not seeing the "subject" area when doing my previous post!) - What's the proper usage for a post vs. a PM? Should my prior post have been a PM to Lococobra instead?

Thanks for your patience, all!

Hi Lococobra, A question about your VirtualPC package... In your instructions, you mention installing VirtualPC, then running it. I try to avoid installing whenever possible (hence using portable freeware :D ) Anyway, in these situations I usually install it in wraithdu's "launched" Portab...

Thanks!

Hi Redllar, I guess I've been a "lurker" here for about a year, mostly b/c I feel I don't really have anything to contribute. I have a copy of your JPE (ver. 0.1.1, I think) from a while back. I was disappointed when you severely limited access to 0.1.5 (though I understand why), but didn'...
