Re: Google Code is going, going .... (will be) gone.

Was just about to post this in general discussion. Curious how many Google hosted projects are in the database, and whether they'll all get moved. Chris diBona (director of open source at Google) has at least said that they'll be making a copy of the majority of abandoned projects and hosting it on ...

Re: Newer zombie-like browsers...ugh.

I imported my previous profile from pre-Australis to v34 to test compatibility and most everything imported and was compatible still. Apart from the default UI change very little has changed from the previous setup in Australis (except for the Refresh button in the address bar, but Stylish could pro...

Was this ever submitted? Can't find anything in the DB. Looks useful, and I've heard works well.

Re: Fastest audio extractor?

Realized how to change the audio quality extracted using youtube-dl. It uses the -f (video quality) option rather than the --audio-quality and --audio-format options. So just for future reference to check the available quality settings of a video, using the previous video as an example: youtube-dl -...

Ratings lower than that can only be found in private entries.
Wire Hang Redux is possibly an infected file? Who knew, I can remembering trying it many years ago on my previous system.

Re: Fastest audio extractor?

@specular Yeah it can download only the audio from the video streams. I Just downloaded the nyan cat video 24kbps audio file and its only 2.12MB. While the lowest audio only file 126kbps one is 3.28MB It's likely just demuxing the audio stream from the downloaded video, which is simple to do. Check...

Re: Fastest audio extractor?

If 3D Youtube Downloader has a way of extracting just the lowest quality audio without downloading the video it I'd go with that. Although tbh it looks like a front-end for youtube-dl. With youtube-dl you can grab just the audio stream without the need to download the video, however it's limited to ...

Re: PotPlayer - how to remove Chat and Program modules?

What skin are you using? I don't believe the English versions even come with the chat feature, but some skins have left-overs from the Korean version and may show additional, unnecessary elements.

Re: Suggestion of new field: "Release Date"

Opera 12.17 works fine, you need Javascript turned on for it to work. If you have a Javascript manager addon such as ScriptKeeper or something you'll need to allow portablefreeware.com and ajax.googleapis.com.

Re: Delete "undeletable" folders and files

For files within paths too long for Windows Explorer you can rename one or more of the folders in the path to something shorter (like 'a'), then delete/rename the file. Would be nice if Explorer natively supported long filenames/paths, but I guess they want that legacy support (although NTFS itself ...

Re: LameXP

Actually, the settings for each version are kept in a separate section of the INI file. Not here, unfortunately. Only replaced the exe but upon launch the ini was reset, and looking at it now only stores the current settings. Upgraded from 4.0.9.1524 -> 4.1.0.1558 Not such a big deal though, just h...

Re: LameXP

Well, upgraded. It reset the existing ini settings which was kind of annoying, but less so than the notice :p At least it wasn't like recently updating Everything a single version and having hours worth of folder inclusion/exclusion and other settings reset (now that was a take-a-deep-breath moment).

Re: LameXP

Well, being somewhat "annoying" is the whole point of the update reminder. People tend to be lazy when it comes to updates, so a little "motivation" is intended  Keep in mind that this will only pop up if you haven't updated for more than a whole year ! During this year a ...
