Good news for your flashget, Alfares. :D You see, it's quite easy to portable-ized apps using JauntePE. is there any way to make it run under user account? For now, I don't think it can as I read somewhere that the madCHook.dll is not able to run under user account. But, I read also the author is do...

Just checked the latest, 015 JauntePE.exe. I also unable to run it. It opens dialog that says, "Failed to start because application configuration is incorrect..." If I click "Ok", it shows again the same warning. Second "Ok" closes it. And I'm using XP SP2.

Yes, I remember about 011 which creates special folders info in the ini. Actually, I don't feel comfortable to have a specific user info or setting within the ini. That's why when I was using 011, I set the ini as read-only to prevent any "SpecialFolders" entries, because it feels like not...

I think it was just due to you not having a class. Yes, you did add class and it worked like you said. But using only window title, should work just fine too. I tested your second script, it would just run JPEized msreader. So, I wonder what makes AutoIt not behave the same for different PC, my onl...

Kranor, is my script not working on you? I tested it and it worked okay, could you tell me what Windows OS are you using? Or maybe the title is changed, could it be that you use it for the shell open? I think your script could be too fast before it really unhides the window on some cases. Running th...

the module lists are not used in any way when launching a child process. The modules lists are simply another mechanism for determining registry and file system redirection. Thank you to make it clear, I just want to make sure it won't effecting the child process. I think I understand what you mean...

Try this to unhide the msreader's window. http://mihd.net/fmhwlr
It's just a simple launcher created using AutoIt that would unhide the window. Copy the launcher in the directory of msreader_portable.exe.

I think you can use a simple script like AutoIt to unhide the msreader window. So create a launcher that would run msreader_portable.exe and if the process exists, unhide the window.

when you create the portable, did the application redirect the database and the downloaded files directories? Nope, the application did not redirect the database (Default.jcd), it is already in my FlashGet folder. Maybe you could just copy that file to your FlashGet folder instead. And for download...

Feeling curious with the infamous bug, I decided to check on my friend's laptop Intel Pentium M 1.60GHz 221 MHz 1GB RAM. JauntePE works normally, I tested using Process Explorer and ObjectDock. Turning off and on for file redirection when testing with Process Explorer also works good. If it's not be...

Oops, I'm sorry Kranor, I only did small test to see if it possible or not to use this with JauntePE. After checking it again to make sure, this is the needed key for the eula: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\eBook] "OEMInstall"=hex(4):00,00,00,00 "RegDefaultVersion"=hex(1)...

if it isn't the language then I don't know what I don't know either, but it seems the processor. I only have Pentium-4 HT 3.01 GHz, with it JauntePE works wonderfully. I hope redllar will come up with something, or maybe he would try to rebuild the 0.1.1 again and recheck maybe a feature or somethi...

English-US on all computers
Okay, that confirms it. Language has nothing to do with it.

thibeaz, do you happened to use non-English XP on your PC? And what about your parents' computer?

I don't really think language is the culprit, but just in case to make sure.

it looks like anything newer than 011 has problems with non-Intel cpus and VMs.
Or maybe the version of the XP.
madrazel in this threadthinks JauntePE doesn't work because he or she is using Polish XP.
