The entry for VLC actually points to the official VLC website, with description on how to run it portably. The synopsis has a pointer to VLC Portable, but the version number actually refers to the official release. I typically point to the official release as a first choice if it can be made to run ...

I think it is portable, but not stealth.

It writes this lone entry:

Code: Select all

HKLM\SOFTWARE\LC IBros Solutions\Spyme Tools\last_check: 00 00 00 00 40 1A E3 40
Seems to be the timestamp for the last autoupdate, which is the first thing I would disable anyway. :D

I will add this to the database.

I have removed the URL and banned the original poster. Anyway, it's quite easy to disable the splash screen under Firefox Portable. Just create a file called FirefoxPortable.ini in the same folder as FirefoxPortable.exe, then add this parameter to the INI file: DisableSplashScreen=true All the possi...

LookDisk might do the job. Click "Search Files". Then select the "Extended Parameters" tab. You have the option of specifying "Files to be excluded". Enter "*.MP3". Then specify the drives/folders to the searched, and just click on the "Search!" but...

Linux Recovery from DiskInternals should be portable. I couldn't extract it using Universal Extractor, so I had to install it directly. RegShot shows that it created some entries in the registry under HKU\S-1-5-21-329068152-343818398-725345543-500\Software\DiskInternals\LinuxReader, with paths back ...

I can't get it to work. The program runs fine, but RegShot found tons of settings in the registry. Then when I tried to run the program on another machine, the settings are not persisted. For example, it doesn't remember that I have removed certain toolbars, or that I have disabled warning on exit e...

Any ideas?
