FlightGeek's advice is of course pragmatic and sensible.

But if you absolutely must access certain websites blocked by some higher power.... :D

One possibility is to use web-based proxies such as http://www.workfriendly.net/ or http://www.hidemyass.com/.

Which archiver program are you using to extract the ZIP package?

I would suggest trying to extract with a different archiver, such as PeaZip or Portable 7-Zip.

Thanks AlephX. It is indeed portable, so I have added it to the database. I tried a number of EXE files, and it worked without a problem. On average, compression ratio is slightly worse than UPX (about 2%). Only complaint is it does not provide a decompression function like UPX. But who knows, good ...

Based on my limited knowledge of Linux, is there any Linux app that is not portable? :D

I mean, with the right 'set' or 'setenv', you can point your config anywhere!

I have zero knowledge about Mac, so I am not sure what's the situation over there. Anyone like to comment?

agreed that Group Policy should be used, however you are running a portable app site and IMHO you should consider adding this app regardless of user problems (would you consider a forum poll to give it a fighting chance?) Hmmm, I have to agree with this. In this case, I am merely stating my persona...

The current entry points to the last freeware version (direct download).

I have no intention of removing it yet, since some folks might want to download the last freeware version for some reason.

But I definitely won't be updating the version number, since there is no free version after that.

Just a 0-byte file will do. You can easily do that under Windows Explorer. Right-click on the folder, select "New, Text Document", type "imgburn.ini". Press <Enter>. That's all!
