i used Tray Cleaner first on Win7 and it left quite a bit of stuff and then NAC got rid of almost all of the rest of unwanted entries

I would suggest publishing hashes If you did a VirusTotal scan on each app update to ensure it was clean and published the associated hashes, end users could check hashes themselves to be sure.
