Well, enhancement of EjectUSB's current feature set is my objective. For example, API-based ejection on Win9x (which I know ''how'' to accomplish, but I'm not sure yet if it's safe; it may force the drive to eject even if data's still being written) and non-admin file cache flushing (I think I know ...

Honestly, I appreciate it; much of the feedback I get is when something DOESN'T work, so hearing that everything's working as expected for someone is very encouraging. Thank you. I'll have some hands-on time with a Vista SP1 machine today to personally double check that there aren't any bugs with re...

Ok, lots of nice improvements are done for EjectUSB 1.2, but I need a little beta-testing to be sure everything's alright before I finalize and release it. I mainly need a quick test on Vista to try out the new ejection function; a test on Win2000 wouldn't hurt either. I've had success personally on...

The short version: just don't buy anything from DiamondCS unless you feel like gambling; some people have reported issues with actually getting product keys and/or functional software. I didn't see anything bad about their freeware (other than lack of development), but it was a fair chunk of forum t...

Well, a portable launcher could theorhetically register the DLL before running the program and then unregister it afterwards. Ideally it'd make sure not to step on any info that's already present in the registry related to the DLL and would handle registry and/or file cleanup for the program itself ...

Are you positive that the 7zip packed files aren't extracted somewhere temporarily? I haven't tried it, but to me it sounded no different than any other self-extracting archive setup (which is why I haven't tried it...).

Quite a few database entries are the ''last free version'' but they were entered in the database, typically, when they were still free. So there is precedence for last free versions being in the database. It'll probably be on a case-by-case basis, for example, if the license the software was release...

I realize that this thread wandered into the Emulators forum. What is the protocol for that? Just let it go or move it at first sign of deviation. This thread is also arguably suitable for Portable Freeware Development. But its original intent was as a submission to the database, so it should proba...

Here's a screenshot showing the differences between your manifest and a working one from a NSIS launcher. I highlighted the differences. http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/3293/manifestvr4.gif The main one that sticks out to me is on the left, the difference between "1" and "APP_MANIF...

I'm sorry I haven't responded m4rc0; I've been working as hard as I can trying to locate any possible issues a language difference could cause for EjectUSB. As for ejection, I think my next step will be to implement loop-until-successful ejection, which is rather drastic, but I guess it'd make sense...

Unless it's changed since I tested it (maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago?) it registers file types for its save files and level files (you can make your own levels!). This means it uses the registry, rather intrusively.

Awesome game though.

I proudly present, EjectUSB 1.1, the [flash] movie! http://www.pocketappreview.com/wink/EjectUSB.htm No, there's no download for EjectUSB 1.1 yet; gotta double check the documentation and do a quick compare with the old script to make sure everything's solid, but I seem to have beat the ejection fai...
