What is the Portablapps.com definition? I tend not to like anything they have to say  but it'd be nice to see others opinions. (Quick gripe: Check out Softpedia and see how many apps Haller "Developed") The only thing I don't mind being left on a machine from my apps is MRU's wh...

firstobject XML editor

I've just checked my inbox (After waaaaay too long) and had a message from Ben Bryant author of the first object XML Editor. My freeware utility is now portable as discussed here, where with your feedback I made an additional fix: http://portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=14523#14523 Your s...

Personally I think the Stealth or Clean argument is rather moot here. If there are going to be awards for programs that are portable shouldn't they only go to programs that we on here would call stealth? If a program leaves files in directories or settings in the registry then that shouldn't be clas...

At least your results can be reproduced joby_toss.
I have found the same problem.
I've added regview to the context menu of all unknown files and added the /F switch.
On Sandboxies regfiles I'm getting the same screen as you.

It saves two mouseclicks even here though so it's all good :P

But I don't know any other image viewer that has the ability to show zipped images without unpacking them. CDisplay does but I don;t think it will accept passworded archives. I guess that is the selling point here. Am I the only one to try the new maxview who thinks that it's turned really ugly? It...

There are plenty of launchers out there as have already been mentioned
but maybe if Funky77 would like to specify which launcher/toolbar is being used already somebody may be able to give a direct solution for that one.

I really want to like this program, it's definitely portable and I , after that list by Drutt, assume clean but it's crashed every time I tried it. The best case scenario it crashes when closing although several crashes have occurred when changing tabs, creating a layer and even just opening the pro...

Tried and tested. It is a nice and simple gui for what appears to be a great program. (Within minutes I discovered that all my pictures are being credited to my cameras original owner, grrr) I've only run it through sandboxie so far and it looks like everything is stored in the temp folder, includin...

Cheers for the update Onesimus. I gave the whole thing a miss anyway. When I had installed the prog I still had "Trial" in the title bar that had a few thousand days left on it. Also whenever I started it up it told me I had 30 days left of trial. Still never mind. If the reg entries from ...

Boy did you pick the wrong day to mention GOTD. I've been bitching about them all day because todays giveaway is only a trial. If you managed to get the program registered I'd love to know how. (Before the giveaway is over obviously) I've captured all the changes made by the Activation and found not...

::EDIT:: I tried again altering the batch a little but still no go. I have checked out the instructions though and noticed this "If you want to start Cathy as portable application, use the parameter -ini cathy.reg , where cathy.reg is the export of registry entries for Cathy saved as simple ASC...

Nice app, good instructions but still not portable.

I launched with cathy.exe -ini with the reg file in the folder and all the settings go to current user\software\rOva\

Any other ideas?

Thank you for the update. It's always good to see developers interested in portable software. Just wondering though do these keys matter when left behind? [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\foxe.Document] ""="XML Document" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\foxe.Document\Defa...
