It surely is worth signing up. It's much better than MPUI or Portable VLC.
I think I will test it for portability.

That is true for most alternate shells. BBLean is a peculiar one. It works better when run over Windows Explorer than when it is set as the default shell. That doesn't cause conflicts? Last time I checked, BBLean uses a right-click-on-desktop to get most things done. Does it suppress explorer's rig...

Oh, if only KMPlayer was portable... :( I use it simply because it has no equal, although it does have an option to "store settings to an ini" i haven't yet tested it to ensure that the registry remains clean. I should probably do that. Unfortunately the site requires you to sign up for t...

Before I try this, just wanna find out Does it work in any directory, or must it reside in the root directory? It doesn't have to be in the root directory. Like I said,BBLean in its default package is portable,ie,without any extra plugins at all. But all the paths in the extra plugins' configuratio...

Andrew: My guess is that it's not portable. Being a shell, it must reside in a certain area in order for any "set shell as default" functions to work properly. Beyond that, manually setting the shell to BBLean might work fine, but it's a moot point if you plan to run it from a removeable ...

BBLean (Blackbox)

BBLean is a an optimised version of the Blackbox window manager for Windows. It writes settings to *.rc files within the program folder (like LiteStep). After you download the file v1.1.6, unzip it to a folder on the root of your drive (like F:\BBLean).Also download bsetroot & bsetbg and place t...

LittleFighter2 1.9c

I found this game on Download.com and tried it.It's a single or multi-player[8] 2D fighting game with "Little Fighters". You can install it to the default folder "C:\Program Files\LittleFighter2\LF2_v1.9c" and copy everything except uninst.exe to wherever. Then uninstall LF2. I do...

I use the in-built mail client in Opera called Opera M2. You can choose between Opera Portable and OperaUSB.
I prefer Opera Portable because it comes as a single file executable and deletes all records of usage from the Temporary Folder even if Opera crashes unlike OperaUSB.

I run Damn Small Linux from a miniCD. It can also be installed to a USB Drive. You can boot from that drive if the motherboard supports it.
There's a version of it packageds as a QEMU virtual machine for Windows called Metropipe PortableVirtualPrivacyMachine.

You can try Filemon, Regmon and Dependancy Walker as suggested above. But for that you need to know the process name to filter the monitoring. If the application runs more than one program, you might miss it. If you don't want do that, you can try What Changed. Search for "What Changed" in ...
