Re: Glint - Windows system activity monitor
It looks really nice in XP on a virtual machine, but it crashes immediately on Win7 64-bit. Administrator rights didn't help.

Re: Pstart loses menu items when copied to new location
Is is possible that PStart is currently set to autostart in the registry and it's getting flagged for attempting to remove the key?

Re: Possible to make Opera@USB as default browser in Windows 7?
You can't browse for a program to assign to a protocol in Windows 7 like you can for a file extension - you're presented with a list of known browsers only. That's why the registry hack is necessary, to let Windows know that the portable Opera is a browser. Godslayer, I don't see why it wouldn't wor...

Re: Possible to make Opera@USB as default browser in Windows 7?
I thought I'd find a workaround for you, but instead I found the solution! I have a program called Browser Chooser (http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5400) that will set itself as your default browser. It then brings up a window with a configurable list of icons for you ...

Re: Locate32 3.1.8.6150 (beta)
It only copies the registry settings to the local .reg file if I run it with administrator rights in Windows 7 64-bit. It's the same whether I use the 64-bit or the 32-bit version of Locate32.

Re: Portable Application Launcher
Here are some things I notice: 1. The CountDown module can only be set by date, and it only counts to the beginning (midnight) of the selected date. 2. The drive usage color scheme confused me - because the gray is so much lighter than the green, I thought the gray represented empty space and the gr...

Re: Is Opera 10 standard portable or not ?
As joby_toss pointed out to me way back a couple of months ago at the beginning of this thread, you can use Universal Extractor if you download the "Windows Classic" installer.guinness wrote:...Opera@USB is still excellent because you don't have to mess with installing and un-installing...

2.) Another problem that is unrelated to this topic. For whatever reason after the forum switch on this site, I can't login to the forums via Firefox. I have to browse this site via IE to be able to post anything to the forums. I'm not sure what I need to enable to be able to use Firefox again. Any...

DoubleKiller also can use checksums to check for duplicates:

Re: ALL Portable Applications?
This has been asked before, once in the past few weeks, even. The short answer is "no". Moreover, it's never going to happen. For one thing, all but a handful of the programs are hosted elsewhere, and many of the download links are not direct links, but lead to download pages on the author...

While the previous post appears to be spam, I have to agree with the sentiment - this is by far my favorite video game. I've played it for probably hundreds of hours since I saw portackage'rs original post back in '07.
Cheers.
EDIT: The mods removed the post to which I was referring.

Re: Comodo Time Machine (CTM)
I suppose DriveImage XML is something similar but alot harder to initiate. It's more like a fuller version of Windows' built-in System Restore, or perhaps like a more flexible Returnil. It's not a partition cloning tool, so if you have a physical problem with your system partition or hard drive, yo...

Re: Auto run from USB stick?
If you want to do it on just one machine (or just a few), I've got an AutoHotKey script that I used to use. It was my one and only attempt at scripting, and I never got around to making it easier to use so that I could share it with the public. I got to the point of getting it to use an .ini file, b...

Re: MediaCoder v0.7.0
The developer has removed MediaCoder from SourceForge entirely (including the outdated instructions on how to make it portable): http://blog.mediacoderhq.com/mediacoder-is-no-longer-hosted-on-sourceforge-net/ It seems that it's no longer possible to make a portable version using UniExtract (or at le...

MiDoJo gave you the answer, more or less: don't pin it to the taskbar, use something else to launch it.
If you haven't pinned it to the taskbar and you're still getting this behavior, I don't know what to tell you.
