Re: Free Commander

Hmm that's odd. He just did not clearly showed it on his page http://www.freecommander.com/fc_beta_en.htm so I thought they were the same files from a couple days ago. I did notice the .paf package but that was on portableapps.com and not on his own web page. EDIT: OH! I see what was going on. I hav...

Re: Free Commander

Yeah I also find Free Commander still slow for some reason. Other than a couple issues though, I think the rewrite might actually be worth it. It seems a lot modern now too and there are certain functions that just work well. On the other hand, in terms of free file manager, there's something about ...

Re: Pelles C

Wait. I thought Pelles C is portable. You must use the /xml PellesC.xml command line and it will then store all the settings in the executable folder. Just write a batch file for that and you're set. And I do remember that all the files are saved there. So basically a Portable.bat file: PellesC.exe ...

Re: I can't registered. wtf TPFC ???

This... post... was kind of funny.

Anyway, the founder is Andrew Lee. TPFC is The Portable Freeware Collection. When was it fond? Good question. I know it's 2004 so I think it's only expecting a year rather than the actual date.

TPFC - Thermonuclear Pink F...kin' Chicken.

Re: portable gui for commandline programs

Oh this is better than the one that I wrote for myself! Thank you!

On the other hand, can't seem to find where it save the settings. Must be the registry than because it obviously saved the screen output.

Re: XYplorerFree

EDIT: OH! I realized what's going on. You said you tried changing the title bars right? That's actually now supported in the Free version. What else did you try to change? Also, if you need any help, just ask Don directly on: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/index.php And he almost always answer questi...

Re: Evernote Portable (custom launcher)

I just have to say: Thank you! I'm glad that there's a portable launcher for Evernote. It's always been a shame that Evernote no longer makes any portable version even though it's so much more useful than the web version. Thank you!

Re: XYplorerFree

Any way to make this one show archives content (browsing zip, rar, 7z, cab, lzh, tar)? Unfortunately no, sort of. Well, you can sort of display zip (and only zip) but it's not integrated in the way you might hope. Right click the zip file > Zip > Zip View and a window will pop up with the content o...

Re: XYplorerFree

@ Enterna l: firstly, I'm on XP here, so no UAC. 8) I tested with the XYplorerFree portabilized version (as per joby_toss instructions) on the desktop and then in my portables folder (D:\PROGS) -- I tried to change the title bar contents via the INI directive, among other things. After some tweakin...

Re: XYplorerFree

If you don't mind, could you tell me what you tried to edit in the file? Either way, it's odd that it did what it did to you. Have you checked to make sure that XYplorer.ini is not "Read Only" for whatever reasons? EDIT: According to Don, the author, you might have XYplorer.exe and the Dat...

Re: XYplorerFree

Not sure how I should write this but basically the new XYplorerFree 13.60.0000: Considering the changelog is from version 5.55.0002 to 13.60.0000, there are way to many changes to be listed. I guess they can just refer to: http://xyplorer.com/whatsnew.php Also download links are on page: http://xypl...

Re: XYplorerFree

Actually if you're talking about Startup.ini, don't bother. Just delete that file. XYplorer will automatically save the Data folder where the main executable is located.

Re: XYplorerFree

At the time of this message, only the install version is the free one. Zip and rar packages contain the full trial version of the app. I can confirm this: at http://www.xyplorer.com/free.php , only the installer produced XYplorerFree (5 970 056 B executable file for v13.60), so-called 'no-install' ...
