Re: Removing Windows 95/98/ME?
The first stage is dropping 9x-specific information from the database entries. An example of what I'd do to the Miranda IM entry : Unicode support: Yes. There are now two versions: Unicode for NT/2K/XP/Vista/7 and ANSI for Win9x/ME. Unicode support: Yes A significant difference, isn't it? IMO, the ...

Re: Removing Windows 95/98/ME?
I think removing Windows 9x should be done in two stages. The first stage is dropping 9x-specific information from the database entries. An example of what I'd do to the Miranda IM entry : Unicode support: Yes. There are now two versions: Unicode for NT/2K/XP/Vista/7 and ANSI for Win9x/ME. Unicode s...

You should be able to update the entry yourself. You can use the "Edit" link.

Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
But there is something i have a question about : - Would you know why when i type real fast into Speed Dial's search then hitting "Enter" causes the Properties Page to pop up? instead of searching? - This doesn't happen all the time.. and i can't pin-point what's causing it. http://i53.ti...

Re: Avast has gone crazy!
But, same as Avira, it doesn't offer the option to ignore a found "threat" (and the "whitelist" option is well hidden in options). I'm talking about the files you know for sure that are clean. So very annoying. I'm regarding this issue with hurt feelings ... it's like the author...

There may have been more "big offenders" which we haven't noticed thanks to the filter.ashghost wrote: Maybe now that a couple of the biggest offenders have taken a breather (PEStudio was last updated over 3 months ago, and KidSafe hasn't been updated since October), the restriction could be lifted.

Re: Are IE-based web browsers portable?
Do you guys think this topic is obsolete now that Chrome and its clones are so prevalent? Again, I realize I am bringing back an old post, but I have been very curious as to the options for portable web browsers... I personally find GreenBrowser interesting. It's a very feature-rich IE-based browse...

Re: VideoCacheView V1.52
Yeh, I meant PE Studio but had completely forgotten the name since I hadn't seen many updates lately! OK. You're partially right. PeStudio is the application that was updated way too frequently when Andrew introduced the update frequency filter. However, KidSafe and NK2Edit were also used as exampl...

Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
I mentioned that the delay caused by the new Speed Dial is small. In addition, my hardware is slow. It's just that any delay opening a new tab reminds me of Internet Explorer 8... http://i56.tinypic.com/e5qo3m.png my hardware is both old and slow: Intel Dual Core ! that's why i mentioned ins...

I don't know the exact time period, but I think it's surely less than a month  It's about 10 days or so. The period is exactly seven days. http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7431 This change restricts the rise of any database entry bubble to the top of the main pa...

Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?

Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
what do you think about opera barracuda? from what i read at the desktop team blog , many users are not happy with the new speed dial (including myself). I ended up disabling Speed Dial (set opera:config#UserPrefs|SpeedDialState to 0). The new Speed Dial causes a delay while opening a new tab. Whil...
