Re: Small USB drives
From what I have read, the strange thing is that the USB 3.0 chips and firmware on the flash drives are cheaper and faster than the USB 2.0 ones, even when used with USB 2.0. So if you can, get a USB 3.0 drive, it should be cheaper and faster than an equivalent USB 2.0 version.

This looks interesting, pity it's not portable and the dev doesn't seem that active.

Re: Small USB drives
Another vote here for the Pico C, great drive, light, small, fast (32/13 R/W), pretty much indestructible. Although I just bought a 16GB Super Talent Express Duo to upgrade to.dany wrote:Got myself a Pico C besides my 2.5" drive. It's fast, reasonably priced, capless and water resistant.

If you want to test the lastest (unofficial) builds of the Gimp in both 32-bit & 64-bit portable versions, go to Partha's Place . The last available (2.74=2.8 Preview) features the new and long-awaited single-window mode... http://picturestack.com/7/159/Ug6201112160129p.jpg Wow, that's ugly. I ...

Re: Hiren's Boot CD
You know this thread is over 3 years old?
I think every IT tech has a copy of Hiren's CD, even if it is illegal, it's just so useful.
UBCD is legal, but it's not as useful:

Re: Nice try...
I chose 100 as 500 was a little excessive. Python looks very simple to use m^(2). I think that Python is one of the best if not the best first programming language. It's very simple and intuitive which makes it easy to learn. It's very productive (noobs want results. It gives them quick). And at th...

Re: Windows 8 Latest News
It seems Windows 8 will support a new filesystem called ReFS . http://winunleaked.tk/2011/12/good-bye-protogon-welcome-refs Haha, yeah right. They said the same thing about Longhorn/Vista and WinFS, that was the only reason I would have considered upgrading to it. Now where is WinFS? Cancelled, tha...

Re: Opera Question?
Sorry for reviving such an old topic, but I also have an Opera related question. I have a .txt file with about 100 urls (url/empty line/url/empy line, etc.). Is there any way I can (quickly) open all these links, each in its own tab? Note: I don't care if Opera can handle 100 opened tabs or not, th...

Re: Alternatives to Google search
I've been using Bing, simply because I did not know about these others. I boycott Google years ago when it went from relevant searches to popular searches, but Bing seems to be going this way too. Thanks for the suggestion for DuckDuckGo, I'll have to try it out and see if the results are actually r...

Re: The E-PARASITE Act
We had something very similar to this recently in Australia, it didn't get to the voting stage though. Ours was instigated by our Christian IT minister and was targeted at pornography, because as everyone knows, on-line pornography turns normal people into pedophiles (yes, this was one of their argu...

HTML editor, for those wondering.
Unfortunately it still hasn't got my most desired feature: automatic link detection and updating.

I believe the registry "functions" are actually macros, so it's a different syntax: ${registry::DeleteKey} "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Trolltech" thanks for the help.. but that's not the correct syntax. im familiar with NSIS and have successfully compiled many launchers. Really?...
