Re: Bandizip V1.0.3

Anyone know how to remove the left panel from view? I dragged the separator all the way to the left and that hides it, but after I restart the program, I can still see the remnants of the left panel. Had a go at solving this, with no better luck. My findings: The zipped ' skin.zip ' in program fold...

Re: DropIt

An idea to the devs: how about modifying the Special Abbreviations dialog to show the actual user directories? Great idea. 8) IMHO, the interface is somewhat confusing, with three different levels of configuration: 'options', 'profiles', and 'associations' -- one of those should be merged... 'Optio...

Re: DropIt

I think "\Store\!Incoming" is bad. Use a relative path ".\Store\!Incoming" or "..\Store\!Incoming", or use a special abbreviation (internal variables) like "%ParentDir%\Store\!Incoming". Thank you, trproli. I intended that path to be relative to the drive root, not the progdir, so this could be eas...

Re: DropIt

Using the portable version, I've been trying to make DropIt work without any success. I already RTFM and am feeling really dumb ATM... Question: What's the easiest way to monitor a particular folder and move archives and executables to another one? Options > Monitoring Scan every = 360 Monitored Fol...

Re: Blacksmith V1.5

Loved the concept -- unfortunately on my XP Pro SP3 system, results were less than stellar... (especially because shortcuts mostly behaved erratically) :( http://i.minus.com/jda30kJOHNLyj.png http://i.minus.com/jbgbT7Ksekbmb.png EDIT: Plus, the additional desktop wallpapers were left over in the sys...

Re: Listen N Write

Done! Hi, Having seen a mention of your software 'Listen N Write' at the TPFC forum (http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/), and having a friend who would very much benefit from using this kind of freeware, I decided to submit a feature request for it to be made fully portable in an upcoming versi...

Re: CHK v1.03

Does what it says on the label. Simple and sweet. Since the 'about' dialog says it's Beta software, maybe the designation should reflect this. Two further suggestions: you might want to add/document a command line interface for easier automation; those column headers could be made hide-abl...

Fast Launcher (menu/bar launcher utility)

Development seems to have stopped, but I've been using it for so long I'm compelled to submit it here for evaluation. Please note that Fast Launcher can also be used as a system tray menu utility; as I don't use such functionality I'll make no further mention of it. Fast Launcher is replacement for ...

GcMail

Good flexible and updated mail clients are becoming rare with the advent of 'cloud' everything... Just come across GcMail which has a freeware version (3.0.0.0) and a payware one (6.0.0.6), which oddly have the same download size. The site is mostly in German but with some Google Translate massaging...

Re: USB hardware benchmarks (& testing...)

@Midas http://usbflashspeed.com/ The benchmarking/testing application requires the .net framework to run. Excellent resource, Baas. Since there seem to be all those benchmarks databases already on the Net, I'm tempted to substitute what I posted at the top of the topic, which now looks like a rathe...

Re: USB hardware benchmarks (& testing...)

Its a good idea, but we might have gotten beaten to the punch on this. Baas talked about this in the other thread : http://usbspeed.nirsoft.net/ Has a pretty cool listing of drives and their speeds. I took heed of that contribution by Baas, it's where I got the usbspeed link idea. :) Still, I think...
