@ donald, if your questions concern NirExt, the answer is yes, • it can be moved, • it supports iconname.ico as long as iconname.ico is in the folder itself • it supports relative paths like(without .\Apps\FirefoxPortable…and \Apps\FirefoxPortable… (without the drive letter) but this is less flexibl...

NirExt

Just use NirExt. It does that with a GUI. Relative paths are supported and you can even just use 'filename.ico' if the file is in the folder.

Hope this helps.

Au contraire

Au contraire. I was actually very interested and read your entire post. Immediately after doing so, I promptly decompressed (UPX) all of my exe's and dll's and recompressed using UPX NRV2E. To my pleasant surprise, ALL THE APPS on my USB key loaded much much faster. It was very noticeable. I am usin...

CleanMem v.1.2.1

CleanMem v.1.2.1 http://www.pcwintech.com/node/145 Install, copy cleanmem.exe and cleanmem_ignore_list.txt to a folder on your USB key. Compress with UPX. Uninstall. (I did not try Universal Extractor on it). Double-click cleanmem.exe to start program. Program cleans memory and quits. No registry ke...

No difference

In terms of the files themselves, there is no difference. It just copies the files over to the traveler mode directory. There might be something in the process that creates a configuration.xml file in the installation directory, but I have not been able to see the difference between the two.

Version 6.0a

Version 6.0a is out. I have been using it for about 10 minutes now, and it does not seem to create the TC folder in %appdata% anymore. Can anyone check?

Ah, yes.

Ennvoy, you are right. As soon as you move the window, the registry entries are created.

Yup, it's portable

Yup, it's portable. Checked with Regshot and with JauntePE. I was using zzoom, but find this smaller and slightly more practical. It might replace zzoom as my default color picker.

I plead guilty of being ignorant that the program may use code/skin from demo applications, but I am just an ignorant non-programming, non-technical contributor/tester/consumer. :? I also plead guilty of having lower overall security requirements than the FBI :P (although I do have all of my documen...

Please encrypt the password, but leave the user the option to encrypt or not the files themselves. Why? Because even if Blowfish can encrypt/decrypt at more than 20 Mb/s, the USB drive will likely not be able to write at that speed. This means that each time someone wants to "lock or unlock&quo...

More Important information

Funny that FlightGeek should mention this. I thought of the same thing. So when I got home, I did just that. I got a 256 Mb USB key and 1/2 filled it with junk including folders, jpgs, programs, video, etc. I then used LockDir to hide the junk (in the root directory of the USB drive and in nested fo...

This is very very interesting. I just tested the version 4.6 (according to the bubble tips in my Windows XP Pro SP2). This software does not seem to use the registry nor leave files lying around in system directories (as far as I can tell with JauntePE). It seems to be clean of viruses, adware, spyw...

Wow, bummer about JTH. I follow PortableApps.com mostly for your posts and the post of one or two other persons. It is a shamed that a site that touts GPL licences all the time refuses "forks", "clones" and competition in general. Isn't this why the programs are GPL'ed? Oh well. ...
