Did anyone upgrade PP to a newer version and make it fully work on Win11 ? On Win11, hotkey commands for the taskbar don't seem to work anymore with those little taskbar icons sitting on the right side of the Win11 taskbar. When executing a hotkey for some icon in the taskbar, PP 5.3.37 keeps displa...

Re: Alternatives to Google search
Perhaps. But DuckDuckGo (like some other hyped alternatives used to do) still connects to Amazon which is about as omnipresent on the Internet, or even more so by now, than Google. It's the reason why I don't use this SE and other SEs that behave (or when they behaved) like that. Personally, I'm sti...

Privacy Badger? Isn't that the one that "learns" which beacons or webbugs to block? IIRC I dumped it because it never ever, not even once, caught anything, as uBlock Origin does such a good job of blocking all those webbugs before PB can even notice them.

Re: Alternatives to Google search
Mozilla never gave a damn, if any FF update broke the addons, time and again. This is just false. Rest assured that many (especially former contributors) see it entirely different. There have been websites around for years, from former contributors/programmers, where they vent their anger at that f...

Re: Alternatives to Google search
Mozilla is far from perfect That's putting it very mildly, IMO. To me they are as disgusting as MS. Years ago, though not in the earliest years, on their forums and bug sites, I learned about their overbearing behaviour. I really got the impression that the Mozilla folk tried to copy MS's manners a...

Re: Alternatives to Google search
I'll probably subscribe to Mozilla's VPN (primarily to support Mozilla, the VPN is secondary to me). Ditto. ??? Who in his right mind would ever want to "support" a multi-million dollar corporation like the Mozilla Corporation who, over the years, has acquired the same arrogant, overbeari...

If you are using Firefox, you could try the Biscuit add-on that preserves marked cookies even if you delete "all" cookies. It can even preserve session cookies.Special wrote:I've done everyone of those things except pray to Amun-Ra, it seems to be completely random when it happens.

Other download sites (other than softpedia) indeed mention the .Net requirement. I gave it a try nevertheless. The program installs, but doesn't run on my slim (.Net-free) XP.webfork wrote:It does? I didn't see anything on the home or softpedia pages about that.dot wrote:Requires .NET Framework 2.0

FAR - "Find And Replace" Tool
http://findandreplace.sourceforge.net/ I was looking for a free "Find and Replace" tool that could do a bit more than the usual "find and replace" options in the usual simple text editors ( I needed to add some identical text with some special characters and an additional line br...

As I just mentioned in the thread about XP compatible software, the newest version (1.2.1) no longer runs on my WinXP.

Just want to mention that the very newest version 1.2.1 of MyPaint that was published today on PortableApps no longer runs on my WinXP. The previous portable version 1.2.0 (v1.2.0+git.f62444e.dirty) does run on my WinXP. If someone's interested in it, I could upload the previous version somewhere. A...

Re: Application that suggest colors based on a color
After reading this thread, I gave MyPaint a try on the off-chance that it might perhaps run on Win XP. The database entry says it only runs on Vista and later. It actually does run on my Win XP. Only when I try to use the button at the very bottom, utmost right, it crashes (but that could be a gener...
