Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Hey guys,
In the beginning I felt stupid but in fact, I don't see the "Edit this entry" even though I'm logged in.

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Hey Midas,
Thanks for the update!
I didn't know I was able to update it myself.
Or do you mean by making an announcement here ?

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Hello everyone! In the past, FileVoyager updates were automatically used to update the version on TPFC. I just notice that since 2021, it's not the case anymore. The current version listed in TPFC is 21.1.2 and is nearly 2 years old. I released a few versions since then and the latest is 22.11.13. H...

Hi guys!
I'm amazed...I uploaded yesterday a new version of FileVoyager (19.12.25) to my website, planning to publish an announcement today.
But...how come TPFC is already aware and has already announced the new version???
You guys are terrific

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
But still, you can sign up on VT and you systematically receive an API key.
In FV, you can enter your own API key. That way you have no quota collision issue with other users

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Hi everybody! It's been such a long time... it flies :/ I've released a new version after hibernation and this last version contains the checks on VirusTotal.com. The VirusTotal API key used by FV is limited to 4 reports per minute. And it's mutualized for all users of FV (sig)... We haven't found a...

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Interestingly PA just released their wrapper version of FileVoyager . @webfork About the VirusTotal integration: I have exchanged some emails with the Support of VT about using their public API. They are very restrictive. eg: They limit to get max 4 item entries from their database per mi...

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Here are a couple of VT's DB on-demand check exemples by other apps, which implement the function you want, requiring either NO button click to display VT's Thanks, this is interesting! When I wrote "you will have to explicitely click a button or check a box" I meant I would not check aga...

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
@webfork This is exactly the kind of real life use cases I was expecting :D Let's discuss them... VT - I can easily dynamically build the url and put it as hyperlink on the SHA-256 digest (without the latest number). So this " https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/5114459a85b3a8b280cba758b53b34c03...

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Is it batch? Meaning can you hash and then verify lists of files recursively? You select files and/or folders, and you execute the Hash Tool. Folders are optionaly computed recursively. You can then save the resulting hashes. The tool is a bit rough at this moment. I'm waiting for real world scenar...

Re: FileVoyager - file manager
Hi there! A long time ago since my post here. @webfork I never aknowledged you, but I've changed my license from CC to Freeware. You have been of a great help to me. Thank you very much! @smaragdus You asked me a long time ago if I had plans to add a File Verifier. Well it's done now :D see FileVoya...

Re: FileVoyager (file manager)
The tinySpell license is great. By looking at it, I directly noticed what's missing in CC to comply with Software Distribution.
I'll certainly replace the license of FileVoyager with something like this as of my next release.
This is very interesting, thank you very much!
