Windows 10 "Night Light" feature
A number of blue light filter programs have already been mentioned on TPFC: F.lux / https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12679 SunsetScreen Lightbulb If you use Windows 10 and don't already know, there's a built-in tool ( since 2017 ) in the Display settings: https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: BBCeditor
Great find. A lot of forums still use phpBB and I find the built-in editor a bit tedious sometimes. Edit: At the end of the WYSIWYG BBCode Editor post webfork mentioned SCEditor . Looks like a nifty online alternative. Link-adding and lists are much easier now. It can be downloaded and used offline ...

Bootable ISOs are "portable" by default, like commandline programs. I'd suggest "Resources and Links" subforum

Re: Sokoban YASC
OK - I can see Uniextract is not the answer. Now that the BAT file is available for the latest setup file, I've been able to follow instructions up to a point. The 'click me to install portable bat' file does NOT actually allow me to install to a folder of my choice. It installs to a subfolder insi...

Re: Sokoban YASC
No, don't Uniextract setup. The process has not changed. Install setup program, copy BAT code to text doc and rename to {whateveryouwant}.bat, run BAT, indicate where you want portable installation, and done. You can then uninstall the setup program. Edit: I've zipped the BAT and uploaded it as an a...

Re: Sokoban YASC
I can't help thinking that John T Haller could produce a "real" portable! @JohnW : I think this program would make an excellent addition to PortableApps. AFAIK PA doesn't have a Sokoban game yet. This one is particularly good, time-tested, open source and the dev is open and responsive.

Sokoban YASC - puzzle game
A very richly featured implementation of the Sokoban puzzle game https://i.imgur.com/p1redKt.gif https://i.imgur.com/xYU8yb5.png Sokoban YASC , like Wesnoth , has been around for a while. In fact, it was one of the first open source projects I came across (thanks OpenCD ). I recently emailed the de...

I agree with @billon and @smaragdus that a forum topic submission should be a requirement for database entry.

Re: Zim (Desktop Wiki)
It seems that since 0.67 the Windows packager no longer uses PAF format. Also there was a bug in 0.66 which didn't allow copy/pasting text and others to and from Windows. The latest release, 0.68, has fixed this in my brief tests. The bug apparently came from major porting/refactoring of the core co...

Re: ResophNotes - note taking
Markdown files (.md) are plaintext files, which is what QOwnNotes stores in the note folder. You can rename them to .txt if you like but it's not necessary. The AlephNote starting issue has to do with the program DLLs being blocked when extracted with Windows default. The developer previously advise...
