USB Webserver links to USB Network Gate Downloads - 14 day trial

https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1185 FYI: Link for USB Webserver goes to a page for USB Network Gate Downloads (version 8.0.1859) which appears to be a different product with a 14-trial. I couldn't find any links to other software downloads on the page. Assuming USB Webserver is no lo...

Re: 4 scholarly research solutions

I have been accused of being a bit verbose from time to time.

Comes from drafting too many documents describing things in
excruciating detail directed at lawyers and dense business people.

Hopefully my edit meets everyone's standards and viewability criteria?

Re: 4 scholarly research solutions

I came across a FireFox add-in called Save Text to File. You can highlight a section or a whole page and then click a Save Text to File icon and it copies the selection to a text file. It ignores images and copies only text. It has options that allow the user to pick how and where the text is saved ...

Re: ClipAngel

Billo255 I have no plans to add tree of categories. To switch databases and settings you can use portable mode in 2 different copies of app (for example one catalog called ClipAngelHome and other called ClipAngelWork). This way does not require change in code and I think is easier than switch datab...

Re: ClipAngel

@Billo255 Have a look at Clipboard Help+Spell which has also been discussed in the forum , perhaps this is what you need. Smargdus, Thanks for the link. I don't think I'd come across this one before and it does have a few simiarities to Clipmate. One thing I liked about Clipmate was its transformat...

Re: ClipAngel

I've been using ClipMate for as long as I can remember (at least 12 years). It's commerical (I think I paid 49.95 for it back in the day) but I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of it. One of the (many) reasons I continue to use it is because it had the option of being portable. It's still a...

Firefox flagging IP2 site as a Reported Unwanted Software Pg

IP2 http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1577 Went to download the IP2 app on PFC and got a warning through Firefox. Tried downloading from the keir.net site (in case they moved the file) but got the same message. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: PSPad

I've used psPad for years and usually downloaded the beta versions as they came out. Those I'd give the developer some leeway on. A final release version to the public should be locked in stone. However, I don't know who all touches the source code and what their vetting process is before release so...

Re: Any search program that can import a list of items to fi

I'm looking for a search program that can read a list of items to find, then it will find it one by one, showing me the result one by one. I've tried and used a lot of search programs and not run across any with this particular feature. If you don't find one you might consider an alternative method...

Re: Clibor - clipboard extender

FYI, ClipDiary (viewtopic.php?t=21501; <6.2KB private Bytes, <16KB working set), which has been my personal choice Thanks Midas. I'll check this one out. Cheeky, cheeky... True.... :) although I prefer to think of it as a conservation of energy through the efficient use of available resources (read...

Re: Search and delete

Actually the software is deleting permanently every thing that is networked file and is unable to send these files to the recycle bin. Yes, and that's an operation of the OS and is what I'd meant when I'd said "As far as I understand, Windows (at least going back to XP) has never had a way of ...

Re: Search and delete

Just noticed this app and will try it out. Had previously used IndexYourFiles as a "cleanup" tool to search for files across multiple local and mapped drives and then deleted, moved, or copied files, depending on my mood. One downside was having to reindex in between actions in order to ha...

Re: Clibor - clipboard extender

I've been using Clipmate (commercial product - both regular install and their portable versions) for the last decade. It's more of a heavy weight with a ton of features (and a learning curve to match). I've looked at some of the free versions of clipboard managers in the past but they lacked a lot o...

Re: Bulk Rename Utility

And instead of scripting, I'm venturing batch "favorites" could come handy, too. There is a favourites option that lets you save the configuration values for a set of common critieria (i.e., image, music, etc.) that can be reused. For RegEx, I like the way psPad saves a history of the las...

Re: Bulk Rename Utility

My favorite (and after I learned it) only renaming program. Always felt that some kind of scripting capablity would be nice, especially for repeat tasks. When I saw this I figured I'd have to breakdown and finally learn javascript (which would come in hand in psPad as well). I ran across this around...
