Re: PNotes.NET (fork of PNotes)
Just a note: I wasn't advertising PNotes.NET; I posted it here as a suggestion, or news update if you consider it, as the author probably won't be releasing updates for the old one and he seems to be saying that the .NET version is the likely future of his program. Anyway, I went back to using the o...

Re: those portable package platforms, what's the benefit?
Sorry for not having read the responses sooner, but I'm glad that a lot of people have shared their knowledge and opinion, and even welcomed reps from PA and WPP to give their insights. I am not a programmer, I have little to none of the knowledge with regards to software laws but I do understand th...

PNotes.NET (fork of PNotes)
What it is. I've been using PNotes so much lately and I don't think the developer has any plans to update it further. Going over PNotes' sourceforge account give hints that PNotes 9.3.0 indeed may be the last release as the developer is pushing the release and actively working on PNotes.NET. (The d...

Portable package platforms - what's the benefit?
I searched this forum intensively and I know that with regards with these bunch of questions I have, none has been enlightening. This isn't about LiberKey vs PortableApps. That issue is old. Let's move on. What I want to know may be helpful to others too, and frankly more important to uneducated lik...

Re: Copy (Cloud File Hosting Service)
Alrighty :) Since this thread is awaiting it's migration, why not turn this into a discussion? Just want to share that so far I have amassed a total of 30GB from Copy, not including the initial 15GB given to free users. That sure is plenty. (And it sounds like I'm advertising it. lol) I'm planning t...

Re: Copy (Cloud File Hosting Service)
This is a "dump area" for those applications we thought were Portable but weren't. It's not designed for advertising services such as this, hence why I said it should be moved to the more appropriate section of the Forum. It would have been easier if you mentioned that in your first respo...

Re: Copy (Cloud File Hosting Service)
Is it not considered an app if you still have to download and install something to get the service working? (I'm seriously asking).
Like Evernote? or Skype? They're note-taking and chat services, but you need the app to use it.

Re: Copy (Cloud File Hosting Service)
Is the "Copy app" a portable software? If not this posting does not belong on this forum. Why not? It's under "FREEWARE THAT ARE NOT PORTABLE" . (I emphasized that so you won't miss it. ) It should be moved to the useful links section. I thought the Useful Links sectio...

Copy (Cloud File Hosting Service)
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with Copy. Let's just put it this way: I am excited to discover something new that no one's talking about (yet). And I also want an etxra space, so please read on. :D This is a new web service I stumbled upon to two weeks ago. It's similar to Dropbox, Google Dri...

program generate thumbnail for 7z & cb7?
Surprisingly, I am quite arrogant when it comes to archive files and I favor .7z over .rar and .zip. However, I am quite frustrated that I can't find a program that can generate thumbnails of .7z or.cb7 files, something which has been impelemented already to zip and rar by program such as CBX Shell ...

Re: MS Security Essentials not safe anymore?
I use MSE. It's a practical choice. The thing is, as AV softwares advance, so do the threats. There will always be a new virus, keylogger, trojan, worm and whatever name they will come up next. And the biggest threat is the user actually. If you know you're in unfamiliar territory, don't allow yours...

Re: Photoscape 3.4
Hi there, PhotoScape v3.6.3 saves the following files in User folder:
favorite.lst
phoobj.cfg
photoscape.cfg
Can we override the program so it saves these files in its own folder?
