Re: Looking for a program launcher to replace my Start Menu
I'm a big proponent of Executor . You'd have to use the Windows key plus another key of your choosing (I use ALT + Space myself), but if fulfills everything else. I took a quick glance, took a longer glance, downloaded, and fell in love. This is exactly what I was looking for, aside from having the...

Looking for a program launcher to replace my Start Menu
Hey guys, long time no see. Hope everyone's doing well. I'm looking for a program launcher with some very specific capabilities. Nothing in the relevant category seems to quite match; hopefully one of you knows of a tool that can help me out. * Overrides the Start menu key * Has a search box * Suppo...

Re: KidSafe FINAL
I'm increasingly worried that these forums can be a gigantic wet blanket for people who want to get community feedback on their software. So please remember that we like software and we like active projects so if something here doesn't make your job easier, ignore it and keep moving. That's never b...

Re: emergeDesktop
Many users are complaining that this program is not stealth: http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2103 and that both files and folders are created makes me wonder if settings aren't saved to AppData. I answered them under my non-logged-in alias "sandman", but had to log on to answ...

Re: KidSafe FINAL
I'm still a little confused what happened to computerfreaker & why isn't this on the official Google Code site? This probably isn't on the official Google Code site because rcmaehl doesn't have privs? (Just guessing, I know as little about that as you do. rcmaehl, if you need access to the Goog...

Re: Stop PEStudio Updates
In the off chance that the author of PEStudio should see this forum: Do not change your software release schedule. I've said this already in another forum but its critical we not even suggest that we're telling you how to release YOUR software, which we are getting GRATIS. That would be irrational ...

Re: KidSafe Final
Ah, well AFAIK we're replacing KidSafe with the Autoit (C++) version. However, I'll check in with computerfreaker on that. First, please call your AutoIt version by its proper name. Since there is a real C++ version in development, calling KidSafe AIE a "C++ version" will cause confusion....

Re: KidSafe - status update
I see there is a KidSafe_AIE.exe on the main site, is this connected with AutoIt3 as suggested? Yes, it is. I've been tied up with other things, both online and IRL, so rcmaehl has temporarily taken over the project until I can get back to work on the C++ version. AutoIt is his development language...

Re: KidSafe - status update
The ongoing change to C++ will be a major step towards a Mac or Linux build. We'll probably hit Linux first. Very, very good news. I wish more developers would produce open, cross-platform software. If you want to make software that lasts, that's good way to make sure its still around and used by s...

Re: How are user ranks determined?
I think you're right; I took a look at a couple of users today, and your idea matches their stats.dmg wrote:I cannot say with any degree of certainty, but I believe you go up one rank for every two apps accepted to the public area plus one rank for every 50 posts.
Thanks!

Re: Process Hacker
But please do not delete 'kprocesshacker.sys', this kernel driver is what puts the hacker in Process Hacker. Yeah, I know, but that driver is also what takes the stealth out of Process Hacker. There are other apps in the database that write to the same reg key, yet no special instructions like this...

How are user ranks determined?
I just noticed that I'm at R3, which surprised me because I only have 70 posts; I was expecting to stay at R2 for awhile longer, at least until I hit 100 posts. Now I'm curious: how are the user ranks determined? (I know it's some combination of getting apps accepted and posting, but I'm not sure ex...
