The problem with the current ranking scheme

Really good programs have really low portable freeware number ranks. It's not supposed to be a popularity contest.

Re: Update to popularity score algorithm

You have a point with "all time favorites."

But as a freeware author, I've been looking at the popularity ratings of my software for years. Those ratings are now in the toilet.

Re: Update to popularity score algorithm

I'm still not clear on the concept. Should we be re-upvoting for programs we have previously up-voted?

Re: FreeFileSync V3.1

What FreeFileSync is missing is multiple folder synch.

For example, synch "this, that, and these other folders."

Re: Dropupload 1.83

"Then select a server, and drop your file in the central rectangle."

Seems overly complicated.

Re: Q-Dir 4.53

I use this program all the time, love it. My only complaints are that it can be bit flaky when dealing with WebDAV network locations, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the default .zip file handling.

Re: Portable and Non-Portable in the same program

I like the idea of testing if the app is running from CSIDL_PROGRAMS and putting up a warning dialog when needed.

Portable and Non-Portable in the same program

Every now and then, someone will try to install a portable program into C:\Program Files\SomeProgram. On Vista and Win7, that is a bad idea because it takes elevated privileges to write to that folder. I wonder if it would be useful to provide the option of writing configuration files to %AppData%\S...

Re: M3U Dropper v0.58

I actually tried futzing around with a quoted reply, but it was a hassle. > Toolbar added Wow. The toolbar is so obvious and really gives it a closer feel to the media players its supposed to work with. I think some of the icons could be a little more clear (big "A" means sort by path?) b...
