Re: What's with the private-message system?

I think a PM remains in the outbox until the recipient has logged in and seen it.
That's correct.

Re: SE-DesktopConstructor and SE-ColorMaker

It did not give me any error message at all. The other 2 attachments don't get listed - that's why I cannot delete them - but they DO show up in the posting. They just seem to exist magically without any reference to them. No inline code. No listing at the bottom. But they're visible on the rendere...

XSS vulnerability reported/fixed

A researcher ( eSecHax0r ) has reported a XSS (cross site scripting) vulnerability with TPFC: https://www.openbugbounty.org/reports/618344/ To be honest, I'm not an expert on XSS. After contacting the researcher and reading up on on the subject, I implemented a fix (incredibily, just a one-liner) wh...

Re: System Requirement Field Blank

Thanks for reporting this. Looking at it now.

[EDIT] Glitch and all affected entries have been fixed now. This is caused by a very recent fix to deal with a reported XSS vulnerability.

Re: ColorMaker

Please tell me whether my line of testing is correct. I replied to this topic, added 3 images as attachment, placed all of them inline, then click [Submit]. All the images seem to appear correctly. However, when I tried to edit my post, only the first attachment is present, and when I made minor mod...

Re: Thanks to TPFC

Thanks guys! I am still amazed by how far TPFC has come, and how it has evolved over the years.

I think we can all agree that TPFC is truly a group effort, with everybody doing their bit in molding the community into what it is today. And we are not done yet. :D

More good years!

Please welcome our new moderators: Midas and billon

Please join me to welcome our new moderators, Midas and billon!! 👏 Both have been long time members of the TPFC community, and I think it is safe to say they have earned the trust of everyone here through their participation and contribution. Just a note: The moderator list used to be listed under e...

Re: TPFC Database

Like it's presently the case with comments, how about deleting only those entries flagged by two or more users? Is this even doable and would it accomplish the desired result? :? I think it is quite feasible to use the current scoring system such that if the score is <= -5 (negative 5), we will fla...

I agree with @billon and @smaragdus that a forum topic submission should be a requirement for database entry. :!:
I agree it's a great idea too! I will get it done ASAP.

[EDIT] OK, I have implemented the change, and updated the new user FAQ to reflect this new rule.

Re: TPFC Database

OK, I have implemented the change so that private entries will only be visible to logged in users. If you are not logged in and try to access any private entry, you will simply be redirected to the home page. Now let's discuss the pros and cons of auto pruning older private entries. I have another t...

Re: TPFC Database

Yeah you caught something that I am also frustrated by. I'm working with Andrew on something for this and hopefully we'll have some resolution soon. How about this? I will add a batch job to automatically remove private entries that are more than 4 weeks old? That way, there will be ample time to m...

The spambots are back!

Today, I checked the moderator control panel to find a shocking 276 spam entries to wade through! When we updated to the latest version of phpBB, I decided to try out the wonderful reCaptcha V2.0 antispam built-in plugin to see if it will work it keeping the spambots out. As predicted, technology is...

Re: Moderator update

Since I can't support projects as much as I'd like with my time and effort, I wanted to poll the group about donating to a beloved program. Ideally would prefer to give to an open source project. Any suggestions? I'd suggest finding out which are the top X app you use on a daily basis, and donating...

Re: TPFC migration

No prob. Thought to @ you but couldn't figure out how to @ handles which contain spaces :P (At least I think the new software supports @'ing, maybe that's only another one I frequent). I did a quick google about this. Don't think it's support it even the latest version of phpBB. It is supported, ho...
