Re: Comments suggestion

I think "Pinned comments" and "Auto-hide" are all quite viable. Auto-hide will be a little easier to implement, pinned comments more work, but probably not too bad. I am wondering how the down-vote in "Relevance vote" differs from the current "trash can" function for each comment (where if enough do...

Re: CCleaner Portable

It seems V5.45 has been pulled, so I suggest we wait and find out how Pinform/Avast are going to deal with this fiasco.

Personally, I have downvoted CCleaner, and I suggest the rest of you who feel strongly about this should downvote as well.

Re: Firefox Portable

After struggling with Firefox/Quantum for awhile, I have basically given up and moved to Vivaldi. Firefox/Quantum uses way more memory than before, and I suspect doesn't return memory to the system as quickly as it should, making everything sluggish on my machine. It routinely creeps up to 3+GB foot...

Re: Any portable app for two-way sync with MTP device?

Just a followup on this topic... I have pretty much given up on MTP, and wireless is too slow for me. So what I am doing these days is to use OTG USB. You need: - The fastest USB memory stick you can get (and your PC can support) - An OTG cable (I got mine free with one of my Android phones) - Andro...

Re: Suggestion - allow users to "hide" some programs

This would be a major pretty change to the code, unless we have extremely compelling reasons to do it!

Recent down time

TPFC was down for a number of hours due to an IP address configuration issue. The hosting provider did a network upgrade and decided to move the VPS instance to a totally different subnet. Because I am not familiar with the process, I made an error with configuring the new IP address/subnet. I am st...

Re: Everything Video Editor

Natron looks really cool, with lots of YouTube tutorials online.

My eldest child is looking to experiment with video compositing, but we obviously cannot afford AfterEffects, so this will come in really handy!

Re: Comments RSS feeds

Apologies for the late action. I was on a family trip for the past 3 days to the mountains.

I have fixed the Recent Forum post RSS link problem.

Thanks for spotting this!

[EDIT]
Tried the RSS feed for recent comments, but it is not updating since jan 1 2018
I have fixed this as well.

Re: Indentation in BBCODE

"icon.css" has been replaced. The spurious quotes are now gone.

I have also fixed the "indent" code with:

Code: Select all

<div style="margin-left: 3em;">{TEXT}</div>
Idea is from here.

Looks better now!

I think a PM remains in the outbox until the recipient has logged in and seen it.
That's correct.

Re: SE-DesktopConstructor and SE-ColorMaker

It did not give me any error message at all. The other 2 attachments don't get listed - that's why I cannot delete them - but they DO show up in the posting. They just seem to exist magically without any reference to them. No inline code. No listing at the bottom. But they're visible on the rendere...

XSS vulnerability reported/fixed

A researcher ( eSecHax0r ) has reported a XSS (cross site scripting) vulnerability with TPFC: https://www.openbugbounty.org/reports/618344/ To be honest, I'm not an expert on XSS. After contacting the researcher and reading up on on the subject, I implemented a fix (incredibily, just a one-liner) wh...

Re: System Requirement Field Blank

Thanks for reporting this. Looking at it now.

[EDIT] Glitch and all affected entries have been fixed now. This is caused by a very recent fix to deal with a reported XSS vulnerability.

Re: ColorMaker

Please tell me whether my line of testing is correct. I replied to this topic, added 3 images as attachment, placed all of them inline, then click [Submit]. All the images seem to appear correctly. However, when I tried to edit my post, only the first attachment is present, and when I made minor mod...

Re: Thanks to TPFC

Thanks guys! I am still amazed by how far TPFC has come, and how it has evolved over the years.

I think we can all agree that TPFC is truly a group effort, with everybody doing their bit in molding the community into what it is today. And we are not done yet. :D

More good years!
