Wait so THIS thread is going to stay at the top of the Site Matters - Suggestions/Discussions forum?
Nah, the respective topics in the Portable Freeware Discussion forum.

Re: TPFC Awards or Top 10 Apps

On second thought, I made the top-10 topics sticky to give them more visibility, instead of putting them in the front page, where the content is more dynamic. Hope you guys have no objections to this.

Re: Comments suggestion

I think maybe we can go with this approach first: 1. Sort from most recent first 2. Show 10 most recent with link to expand. This should be quite easy to do, probably only a few hours' work, including test. If we find that this is not enough, and we need pinned comments, then we can revisit it late...

Re: TPFC Awards or Top 10 Apps

Right, yeah. What I wondered though is whether the curated top 10 would change over time based on user feedback, since otherwise it might remain the same programs if nothing was updated with it (unsure how long it might be in the sidebar), when other programs might also be worth highlighting in the...

Re: TPFC Awards or Top 10 Apps

Just curious, would this be an ongoing, periodically updated list? As I'm wondering, if the goal is to highlight hidden gems and work from standout devs vs the programs seen, say, in the Popular list it would seem to me beneficial to refresh from time to time the recommendations to give other progr...

Re: Comments suggestion

I think we need to nail down on how to present _both_ pinned comments and 10 most recent comments, both of which must be presented before the hidden comments. Maybe we can have this: == Top 5 voted comments == == Most recent 10 comments == == Click to show all comments (most recent first) == Any oth...

Re: TPFC Awards or Top 10 Apps

I was thinking, maybe we should put this list on the front page in the right sidebar.

Any objections?

Re: Comments suggestion

The trash can I pictured more for spam comments, if I remember correctly how we initially set that up. Trashing comments would be to get them off the site entirely, while less relevant comments don't show up front-and-center. So lemme get this straights. What we will expect to see is: - Comment1 - ...

Re: Comments suggestion

I think "Pinned comments" and "Auto-hide" are all quite viable. Auto-hide will be a little easier to implement, pinned comments more work, but probably not too bad. I am wondering how the down-vote in "Relevance vote" differs from the current "trash can" function for each comment (where if enough do...

Re: CCleaner Portable

It seems V5.45 has been pulled, so I suggest we wait and find out how Pinform/Avast are going to deal with this fiasco.

Personally, I have downvoted CCleaner, and I suggest the rest of you who feel strongly about this should downvote as well.

Re: Firefox Portable

After struggling with Firefox/Quantum for awhile, I have basically given up and moved to Vivaldi. Firefox/Quantum uses way more memory than before, and I suspect doesn't return memory to the system as quickly as it should, making everything sluggish on my machine. It routinely creeps up to 3+GB foot...

Re: Any portable app for two-way sync with MTP device?

Just a followup on this topic... I have pretty much given up on MTP, and wireless is too slow for me. So what I am doing these days is to use OTG USB. You need: - The fastest USB memory stick you can get (and your PC can support) - An OTG cable (I got mine free with one of my Android phones) - Andro...

Re: Suggestion - allow users to "hide" some programs

This would be a major pretty change to the code, unless we have extremely compelling reasons to do it!
