Well maybe I should mention that PortaPuTTY is the comeplete PuTTY bundle and Haller's is nothing more than the single PuTTY.exe with a NSIS wrapper.
I think being able to use most of PuTTY's best features on the fly counts for something. I'm going to state my opinion again, Socialist Sushi is better.

I tried his portable apps launcher. I hated it, I couldn't unmount my drive in the normal manner(I had to brute force it). And let's be honest, there are programs just as easy as his launcher if not they are easier by far. And why design around the launcher? Why not around the user. /gasp /! /gasp M...

Hey Simon, I found a real nifty DOS translation on the official "how-to" for making Pidgin portable. Batch how-to The original: ::First things first. I'm in UR Echo, dumping my excludes. Echo \perlmod\ >Exclude1 Echo \locale\ >Exclude2 Echo pidgin-uninst.exe >Exclude3 mkdir Programs ::base...

I thought I'd toss you the linkage(though if you just typed "Socialist Sushi" in the firefox urlbar, you'd be there). http://socialistsushi.com/portaputty Last time I used something from haller that used a .reg file to store its settings, it didn't run correctly, the setting couldn't updat...

Officially portable?

I thought Socialist Sushi already went there. In fact they did, more than a year in advance! Haller's packaging is nothing more than a cheap knock off of much better software. I give it a zero.

This is a waste of time, PortaPuTTY offers the full PuTTY suite AND stores the data in something other than a virtual registry. Haller's version is useless. Why is this program even being listed? I say it should be removed for being a cheap knock-off of already existing software that serves the purp...

Oh yeah, about that, I have a simple fix. The issue is with system.ini just remove it from the directory, DO NOT DELETE IT!!! Run the patch program, when the patch has completed, put system.ini back in the directory. That's what I did the first time I saw an error message. let me know how it works f...
