Re: Windows 7's hideous local search

hrmm. i came here to recomend Everything and SearchMyFiles. i guess i'm too late! both are fantastic tools. i actually have Everything running in the background, and have even mapped CTRL+F in my file manager to bring it up in place of its integrated search. it's a fantastic tool. but on the rare oc...

Re: LinkCollector Portable Edition

very nice update. last time i looked for a new version the homepage was gone, so i assumed the project had died... my old bookmarks file imported fine. visually, there are some odd quirks (i'm running windows 7). mostly they deal with the lines that show up as part of the 'tree' view, and how it int...

Re: Good audio manager?

foobar can take some getting used to :) before you start a full manual inspection, open your library up in mp3tag to see if the tags are visible there. if so, you can transfer them to another space. if not, then i guess you have some work to do! setting up custom tags is fully possible in foobar, ju...

Re: Good audio manager?

no, facets only works with defaultui. there was a time when default was pretty crap, and panels was the way to go. then panels died, and columns took over. but in recent months, the team had really upped the ante with default, and it's looking quite good. i have played around with columns and create...

Re: Good audio manager?

foobar and mediamonkey are the best of the best for advanced media management. i think mediamonkey has better features for initial organization, but once you have your main library in good shape, definitely switch to foobar. there are so many plugins, and the entire UI is cutomizable to the point th...

MBase 2 - Movie cataloging software

http://www.quadware.com/img/screenshots/beta1_details.png It comes in a zip and writes the database/settings to the local folder, but I have not tested it for full portability/stealth. It's fantastic so I'm posting it anyway. There are lots of these apps out there, but this is the best I've tried. ...
