Re: LibreOffice Portable now runs from paths with spaces

Heh, nice catch. But since JTH has left this thread, I guess he'll never know about it. :) :) don't worry Hydaral, I'm pretty sure he is still reading this thread! BTW, although this topic became a bit OT, it looks like as a bigh push on both sides (wPP and PA) to improve their projects. Gre...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

CUT Because votes aren't logged, I'm not sure. I think it has always been private. Hi SISTEM, I'm pretty sure I voted it while I was logged (Yes I know I'm R0, but I was logged, there is also mine comment!). After a quick check, actually I can see: X-Datacrow ( submitted on 2011-06-15 ) the score i...

Doesn't matter John! It was only a joke about PA/Inkscape involving on common project. I know your position consistent! :) Anyway many thanks for your time spent replying me

Re: X-MyPaint

@rikylov Are you affiliated with WPP? NOPE! :D I'm an ITALIAN university student that loves portable applications in GENERAL. On my 16Gb USB stick I've some proggies by WPP but also some by PA and a lot of natively portable taken from TPFC. I have a personal preference on WPP because of native Ital...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

X-Inkscape has advocates in both Danix and zandet2 as well as rikylov. Nope! I'm not advocate of anybody! I'm just an end-user that reports a personal feeling. IMHO all this disease is quite incredible! First or Second doesn't matter. Anyway most important thing is end-user satisfaction and feedbac...

Re: What to list first and why

So, If I understand well, no more freeware portabilizations will be done in your PA? That's a pity!!(btw, sorry for my english, is not my primary language). That's not what I meant. I meant if you were repackaging someone else's software you need to make sure you have permission to use it from the ...

Re: Re:MyPaint

OK, I contacted the developer and was pleased to find out that there actually is a portable version of MyPaint http://opensourcepack.blogspot.com/2009/08/mypaint-git-build-for-win32.html available (scroll down the page for a download link or get it @ http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2554170/mypaint-0.9.1P.7...

Re: What to list first and why

We have no problems and encourage people to use our software for other projects (provided they follow the licenses and have trademark and/or EULA permissions from the publisher, of course). That's why we're the only project that's 100% open source under OSI-certified licenses and with a fully open ...

Re: What to list first and why

Hi John, open letter to You: why are you persisting in this way against alternative projects? Hi rikylov, thank you for your defense, but sincerely we don't think that there is such a persecution against winPenPack. You're welcome ;) or, in native way: grazie  Simply we are searching, as usual...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

Maybe because x-inkscape works a little bit safer than Inkscape Portable? As per my habits, I tried both and my anti virus (Avira Pro) said Inkscape Portable is infected! Now, I know is a "false positive" So the PA version set off some virus scanners that the Inkscape didn't? And, ...

Re: What to list first and why

-cutted post- But if the publisher has one they have specifically linked as their 'portable version' that uses a launcher (what you call a wrapper), wouldn't it make far more sense to link that as the main entry and list an Alternatively with the steps to make a launcher-less portable version? In t...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

-cutted quoting- Why would it be necessary to contact the developer to get them to give blessing to a 3rd party solution unless there is a bias favouring that package over the official one? Maybe because x-inkscape works a little bit safer than Inkscape Portable? As per my habits, I tried bo...

Re: Data Crow

Lovely version by wPP.
I like very much their approach with java-related proggies (not only for X-Datacrow). Once You have their suite on USB stick, all portable programs present can share the java version "locally installed" in your stick with javaget.
IMHO this is a very good step.
