Re: Neeed some .bat help :D

Here is a different approach which replaces string data within a line. This is not very elegant, but it demonstrates the approach. It reads each line in a file and then replaces target text with replacement text. It then writes the modified version out to a new file. @echo off MODE CON cols=100 line...

Re: PicPick Tools

Joby, Thanks for taking the time to follow up on this and testing further. Yes, my problem was that I almost always need the Capture Window Control option for capturing, because I need it to scroll to capture the full window. It would seem that this would be a minor fix to PickPic, since all the oth...

Re: PicPick Tools

Joby, Thanks for replying. I did not know about the profiles, but unfortunately PickPic still needs to map the PrintScreen key to itself even with the hotkeys disabled. I also use FastStone Capture (the paid version), which uses the PrintScreen key. So PickPic cannot operate on my system due to its ...

Re: PicPick Tools

I don't consider this portable. It needs to remap the PrintScreen key to do screen captures. I already have that mapped to another program, as it might well be on other computers on which I might try to use this program. If there is another way to use this without remapping keys on my computer, plea...

joby_toss, OK, I wouldn't have believed it if you hadn't shown it to me with my own eyes! Thanks for taking the time to create a screen capture. After seeing your visual proof, I realized that something must be going wrong on my side. Although I had checked the version of IronPortable before, I chec...

bewc, Thanks for the follow up. I am an experienced batch file programmer, so I understand the code in your batch file, but it is still not opening IronPortable in incognito mode. It opens the browser, but it does not appear to be in incognito mode (because there is no incognito icon). Are you sure ...

14.12.2008: New Iron-Release: 1.0.155.0 Further we have improved the Portable Version, it now accepts parameters such as -- incognito, to start Iron immediately to the "anonymous mode". I have not been able to get the --incognito parameter to work with IronPortable. My USB drive is U: and...

Yes, I can confirm that this version does not activate Vista UAC on my machine.

Thanks for all your efforts.

gpg4usb, Perhaps you could add a warning to the text of the popup box that asks for the passphrase during decryption. I know a lot of people will just ignore it, but at least they would have been warned. I do think you're right that USB reading, keylogging and wireless sniffing make using GnuPG on p...

M@tty, You are correct. The popups I got were the "unknown publisher" popups rather than UAC. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not getting them anymore, because I unchecked the "Always ask before opening this file" box on the unknown publisher popup. I am still not able to close Priv...

M@tty, I think I might have an idea about why your friend did not report the pop-ups. The first time you run a new (or updated) program on Vista, it gives a popup and asks if you want to run the program. There is a checkbox on that dialogue screen that says something like "Show this every time ...

gpg4usb, Thanks for adding signing/verifcation to your To-do list. I'm not sure I understand your logic about risk, however, since you already support decryption which requires inputing a passphrase. Signing a message, which requires inputing a passphrase, would not be any riskier in a cafe than dec...

Key Management is one important point on our TODO-List - before we work on this, binary-encryption is our top-priority and will be added in our next release. gpg4usb, It appears that your team's original purpose was to create a tool to make GnuPG easy to use with email, and I think you did a great ...
