Oh yes they can, it's just a choice between two negatives. And the stomach always wins.

Re: WinRun4j
Again from what I gather from the site, it uses the installed JRE. Under Usage there's a vm.location you can set to point to the JVM dll to use, maybe that's of any help.webfork wrote:So I'm definitely interested, but wondering if it uses the installed JRE or could work with jPortable or whatever.

Re: WinRun4j
I don't know squat either about java, but this looks like a runtime/invoker for java JAR files. That's what I gather from the site, but I could be wrong.
If it's portable then I'm sure there will be people interrested in this.

Awesome! You learnt anything about AutoIt from the source code? Not this particular one, really haven't looked at it yet. DropIt though gave me some pointers, especially on using image resources from compiled scripts. And how's that UDF? Ah yea, I'll send that to you before the weekend and probably ...

Re: ProEject
Really great app, guinness. Been using it for a month now and it makes it so much easier to clean up the host machine. Got some small remarks about the beta though (on Win7 x64): If started minimized, it still briefly flashes the gui on startup. When in 'minimize to tray mode', the close button clos...

Re: Available IPs
If you put it like that, yea makes total sense. The other apps do allow pinging the full range up to 255, that's why I asked.TheCrazyHacker wrote:This scenario makes sense to me.
About the range: just noticed that the second box goes up to 254, the first only to 253. Missed that.

Re: Available IPs
Angry IP Scanner or SoftPerfect Network Scanner and quite likely others as well. They can all scan a network and list IP's that are available. The real question is of course: is this IP really available or is it just a machine that's currently turned off? Since you mention static IP's in your first...

Does anyone use 'Scripts' to manage their 'Portable Heaven' (as Joby said)? Yea, but minimal and mostly in batch. I try to reserve it only for temporary hacks in the hope they'll get fixed in future releases. Like with PhotoFiltre7 recently, which writes to the registry. But managing applications t...

@guiness: make ProEject a swiss knife tool kinda. Although this would fit ProEject's general functionality.

I vote yes. Considering that there arn't that many free quality CAD programs out there and the ease with which it can be made portable, definetely yes.Hydaral wrote:So, should SolveSpace be listed in the DB?

Also couldn't decipher what the "Convey" menu was about. Confused me as well. After reading the comments over there I got it. It conveys, or copies all links in Data/Links to the hosts SendTo menu, allowing you to add your own SendTo entries. ReConvey basically refreshes everything on the...
