What sort of tasks are you going to be using it for? Web dev., graphics, word processing...

For office suites; there's Open Office, SoftMaker Office 2006 etc. Check the database for many separate solutions.

Really effective! Love it My initial suggestion is to implement a better resize logic. My personal photo collection varies in dimensions, some are 300px by 400px ranging upto 3702px by 2304px etc etc, I'd like to display them on my desktop within a set size limit, i.e. no picture exceeds 400px by 40...
