Winplot + GraphCalc (Graphing Tools)

These are two very useful graphing applications. Comes in handy for creating graphs for handouts and notes. As far as I can tell settings are saved to the application folder, however I am not certain. Until this is confirmed I wouldn't say these programs are stealth, however they are portable. Extra...

Slow, but already slow.

Sorry about that, maybe I should have specified. I'm already behind two proxies with no way to forward any ports so DHT is impossible and my download speeds are already less than dial-up speeds. My hope has that by connecting through the Tor networks, the outside proxies would hold a connection long...

Which is better?

Which proxy type would you recommend for torrents? HTTP or SOCKS? Should I use SOCKS4 or SOCKS5? Sorry, I'm new to proxies.

Download Link Broken

Just wanted to inform you that the MiHD download link for Torvox isn't working. HiHD said their server is down. Have you considered MediaFire to host the file?

Update: The download server is working again.

ID3 Suggestion

That is very true. You should set up a system for naming and tagging your files so that everything is consistent. If all your files are named/tagged the same, they are easier to locate. Ex: Filename = "<artist name> - <song title>" This will make it very easy to locate that particular artist in any ...

Willing and partially able

But I have another suggestion, as seen in another forum dealing with free software and which might help to reduce the workload to the moderators. There, users can "adopt" one or more programs and are then in charge to keep the record updated. It's usually the one who submits a program, but can also...

Lights Off

I don't know if anyone remembers the game Lights Out from the 90s. Well, I brought it back with Lights Off. It's another game that I started at work and finished it that day when I got home. It turned out quite nicely. Synopsis:The goal off this game is to turn off all the light on a switchboard by ...

I agree

I agree with Local. The average consumer is easy influenced by marketing. That's what marketing is designed to do. Unfortunately, these general consumers don't take the time to educate themselves on products before making an investment. This is why companies like Dell make so much money, they have p...

Not the absolute

I would have to say that the opposite is true for me. My favorite Apps and the ones I use the most are the ones directly related to development, more specifically, those with a specific purpose over a multi-function program. Such as icon editors that allow the creation of icon from pre-created graph...

Problem?

BonkEnc is primarily an audio converter regardless of it's ripping abilities and Audiograbber is released as a CD ripper. So I don't see the problem with the categories.

No. But at least you will know if it works with the Windows version. It's better than nothing.

Microsoft .NET Runtime

Essentially it is possible to have VB applications that are portable, however, Microsoft VB is now VB.NET and most applications require MS .NET framework to run. I figure it will be safer to stay away from VB programs for this reason. C++ Applications are safer because the end user only deals with p...
