Little update, some further probing with Dependency Walker shows that it uses GDIPLUS.DLL, but again, that's not a problem.

I agree, MiDoJo, great little program. Makes it easier to edit the HOSTS file than say with notepad++ or an other editor, especially if you're not that much of a geek...

(can someone in the know check registry and stealth entries on this prog)
Checked, only leaves registry traces in ShellNoRoam/MUICache, so that's ok. No other files on the system that I can find. So it's stealth methinks.
Nice tool, really handy.

*BUMP
It would be nice if this also gets updated in the database, as the current links are dead.
btw, I got the download from ausgamers, simply extract with universal extractor and copy files to wherever on your portable drive. Works for me.

I'm following this topic with _much_ interest. Will try the Virtual pc during this week, and let you know my experiences. But it sounds like great stuff.

Try again. I just visited xiles.net and no problems there... Maybe it was something temporary.

Seems to already be in the database:

I use this one too together with OggDropXPd, nice and simple (right-click for more options) and they produce good-quality files.

Have a nice day.

I implemented Andrew Lee's solution 1) in PngOptimizer 1.6.

So just create an empty PngOptimizer.ini (or copy the one from %APP_DATA%) in the EXE folder and PngOptimizer will use that one.
Great! Thanks, also for this little gem. It's simple to use and does a great job.

Re: version 1.6 out

Since the author said they would try to fix this, could someone check and see if it qualifies as portable now? Well there arn't any register-entries anymore (regshot, but I might have blown that, there was a process running on the background that I had forgotten about...), settings are now stored i...

Pixie color picker.

Pixie, a colorpick tool, from nattyware.com. Small (8 Kb) and with no-nonsense options, displays colors in various formats (html, hex etc). I extracted the setup with Universal Extractor and then checked it with RegShot. No entries, yay. DependencyWalker lists GDIPLUS.DLL, but I'm not that good (yet...

Not entirely portable imho, considering it creates gmer.exe, gmer.dll, gmer.ini and gmer_uninstall.cmd in C:\WINDOWS... And a quick scan of my registry shows that it installs a service, gmer.sys... So after running GMER you'd have to UNINSTALL it. There's more info here http://www.gmer.net/faq.php ....

MPUI update

At the homepage of the maker there's a new release of MPUI http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?page=projects#mplayer Comes as an installer but can be extracted with Universal Extractor and used like always. Maybe some of you know of the codec problem I had with MPUI and MPlayer ( topic here ). Wel...

1) Write settings to EXE folder if empty INI file is present, or write settings to user profile folder if not. This enables your app to continue supporting the multi-user scenario. If I might add to that, writing settings to an INI file in the EXE folder has (my personal...) preference, since it sa...
