7-Zip & Folder2Iso

You can use 7-Zip to browse ISO images and extract files from them. After editing you can re-create the ISO with Folder2Iso.

Both tools are free and portable:

Hi jdcoop, thanks for the Vista confirmation. Blat expects one of these scenarios: 1) Blat <filename> -to <recipient> [optional switches] 2) Blat -install <server addr> <sender's addr> [<try>[<port>[<profile>]]] [-q] 3) Blat -profile [-delete | "<default>"] [profile1] [profileN] [-q] 4) Bl...

Hey thibeaz, nice work. I tried to open Shakespeare's Complete Works from Project Gutenberg (5.32 MB), and it was much faster than MS Notepad. Suggestions: 1) "Open with" does not work yet, the same applies for draggin'n'droppin' a text file on the executable as well as opening a file via ...

The IrfanView ShellExtension is another fine example, as is AudioShell.

Also, Xentient Thumbnails works from a thumbdrive, though it leaves some settings in the user data folder.

I've been having problems with Skype's portability for over a year now and was sure to find the solution to them here in these forums sooner or later... But in the meantime I started to wonder if I am the only one having trouble. It took me a while to notice that after some update (3.0 maybe) I wasn...

For me, Java's portability wasn't a problem actually, it was the lousy performance and resource overhead. I have mentioned it many times in this forum already. Yep, I've read all 43 postings containing the word "Java" plus the FAQ before I decided to post that topic. The main argument was...
