Re: Splat - program batch launcher

This program is almost exactly what I want; the one additional option I'd like is the option to run programs as administrator.

Re: TPFC migration

Confirmed, the certificate shows as expired this morning. Edge gives me the option to proceed to the site anyway, but Firefox doesn't.

Also confirmed, search isn't working. And in general the site is loading slower than I would expect.

Re: qBittorrent

Ah, that explains an issue I was having while testing the app - I thought it was down to me having made a mistake copying the config files across from the PortableApps version, but your explanation makes complete sense. I haven't had the problem since as I moved the app to a different drive, but in ...

Re: qBittorrent

I can confirm that the "--portable" command line switch is working as expected in v4.0.1 - so no need any more for the PortableApps wrapper. There's no portable download available, though - only the installer - but it can be extracted with UniExtract or 7-Zip.

Re: Bvckup

This is an excellent app, the fastest backup program I've ever used. Leaves others in the dust, even FreeFileSync which was my previous backup program of choice. It's on version 2 now ( http://www.bvckup2.com ), and has just come out of beta, so no longer free, but "There's also a free beta release ...

Re: Wonga phishing emails

Yes, it's just a standard sort of phishing email, what caught my attention was that it was sent to my Portable Freeware email address. Usually these sorts of thing come to addresses I've used publicly, or just random addresses at my domain. I use unique addresses at websites I have accounts with, pr...

Wonga phishing emails

I have recently been receiving phishing emails trying to get me to login to a fake Wonga website, which have been sent to the email address I used to sign up to this forum. I have never used this email address elsewhere. I don't know what the implications of this are on the security of your website,...

Re: Portable Software that hasn't been developed?

MYdefrag - AFAIK the best freeware defrag program. JKDefrag here on the site is its predecessor and works well enough for most applications. The author didn't seem interested in portability last time I checked. See here: http://www.mydefrag.com/FAQUsing-HowToUseMyDefragFromABootableCD-ROMOrMemorySt...
