Downloaded IZArc2Go V4.1.6 from both Softpedia and Brothersoft, uniextracted the installer but could not see anything OpenCandy related. VirusTotal says it is clean too. juvera: True. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brothersoft.com However, from experience, Brothersoft doesn't get involved in license or malware issues with their site downloads. They are pure hosting. The site has developers host and manage their own downloads. Thus, when IZarc links to them, they are managed by IZarc.

I just "UniExtracted" 4.1 and saw a folder called OpenCandy (called spyware by some). FYI, YMMV, and any other acronyms that may apply...

Just a hint: The installer of IZArc2Go does leave an entry into the registry (at least the recent version 4.1), hence not completely stealth. The entry can be found at: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/IZSoftware/IZArc2Go" containing the subentry "Completed". This seems to be only an entry of the exe installation / unpacking process and seems not effect the final portability at all, but I just wanted to let those know who really wish NO registry entry with portable software as I do. So in case you want to avoid the entry in the future, install / unpack IZArc2Go once, then delete the registry entry, next delete the original launcher exe file and only keep the unpacked folder for all future uses. Just backup a copy of the folder and keep it for further future uses (eventually zipped).

As wrote Brett, you can decrease size by deleting translations, but you can "upx" the exe and the dlls too.

Thanks for pointing that out. Apparently, the .rar format is proprietary and WinRAR/RAR is the only way to write .rar files, which have become my preferred archive type.

Awesome tool, 7zip sometimes fails extraction of some files, thats where izarc came in, extracted a rar file just fine.

Great archiver. I've been using it for quite some time. Glad they finally made it portable. You can decrease size by deleting language translations. I deleted all but English and reduced size to about 5.6 MB
