Splat v1.1.0 Updated

Checker on 27 Jan 2015
  • 2MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 27 Jan 2015
  • Suggested by Checker

Splat (Simple Program Launching and Termination) allows you to build profiles that can launch or close programs and services. Supports drag-and-drop, hotkeys, and includes the ability to open specific files, folders, URLs, and even other Splat profiles. The program can aggressively close (kill) applications that may not shut down normally or add delays of time or CPU usage between actions (e.g. to avoid overloading the system with tasks or to give time enough to enter a password).

Great for a computer startup sequence that won't slow down your computer or for switching between different separate program groups (such switching from a view all your financial programs, data, and files to all your photo/video editing tools)

Category:
System Requirements: Win7
Writes settings to: Application folder
Dependencies: Administrator rights
Stealth: ? Yes
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch Splat.exe.

  • Priority options to the Run action.
  • "Auto-scroll log" option.
Changed:
  • "Start/stop services" action to "Services".

I very quickly integrated this into the startup sequence on both of my main machines. Great to get multiple portable software up and running in a system-friendly way.

Thanks, webfork. Your comment made me realize that Splat can be used as a start-up manager... duh!

I got rid of Windows Scheduler and use nnCron instead. Very simple, flexible, and it uses the unix crontab format.

Wow, I'm a powerpro user, too. Funny how we are all checking out a system scheduler... I use pycron on my server, however.

it dosn't work for me sorry,
i'm using antiscreensaver http://eng.softq.org/small_utils.htm, it's just work fine!

Beau on 2012-02-05 17:25

I've been using Don't Sleep for some time now and it works great for me. It updates frequently but I never had a problem with the many previous versions. I use it when doing routine unattended maintenance, when making large backups and downloads.

allclownsareevil on 2012-02-05 19:20

I think "Don't Sleep" should win an award for the most updated program on TPFW. :-) Works well though, thanks.
