I believe SIV doesn't require admin rights. Judging from the screenshot - it looks like it reports the same amount of information.

"Dependencies: Administrator rights"

The policy of this site is to list even kind-of-portable software and give enough information to let YOU decide if each application is portable.

The plethora of information to display including Fan speeds, CPU, HDD, and MOBO temps in the notification tray makes this thing perfect for me. I let Process Explorer handle the memory/cpu/network/etc usage and let this thing display cpu/mobo/etc temps and I get a wealth of information in one area. It doesn't use too much resources either. Highly recommended.

@Ateka: The most important part -- The driver is installed when you run and it is removed after you close it. The HKCU key is settings and not important. It's not stealth, it requires admin rights but it IS portable.

You need to start this by "run as administator" in order to see all the drives. You can set that property in the shortcut properties if you wish.

The .zip files currently available for download from the CPUID website are empty!

Just downloaded this app on a Windows 7 Professional machine and a Windows XP SP3 machine. It popped up on both machines with a peripheral error then quit.

AdrianK_IT on 2013-10-25 12:41

The latest version is best avoided! Completely freezes on startup, hard restart required. Also, disabling update check on startup has no effect, does it every time!

This software is not stealth, it creates CrystalDiskMark30.ini in the user's folder.

portafreeuser on 2010-12-27 04:09

it's a nice idea but i've heard people say that benchmarks like this are worthless because disk caching. unless the temp files are bigger than the caches, the results are bogus.

WIkiQUsK on 2012-11-25 14:57

Just tested it and it seems to be writing the settings file to the app folder correctly at this point. I think you can change this to stealth now.
