Love the simplicity, ease of use, familiar look and feel, but the program doesn't reconnect when there's a connection problem (I have a bad one) so I'm constantly restarting the program.

Update fixed reconnection problems. Very happy with this.

I see that Miranda is not stealth; can whomever is updating listing put in whereabouts it leaks?

I think there might be some issues with v0.9.13 (WinXP). Since upgrading, the program window vanishes from desktop and taskbar, and can't be reinvoked other than by running the program again. Task manager shows its still running tho. I've gone back to 9.11 which works fine.

@John Haller. I thought most custom pounce sounds were portable relative to .purple. In fact, any paths that a plugin relies on are also relative to .purple
Wasn't this like when you implied that Pidgin OTR and Pidgin Encryption were not portable?

toilet_duck on 2011-03-16 20:45

@rokth You're right. I've had nothing but success using a proper portable Pidgin build (batch made, not the needless PortableApps version) to run pounces, plugins, etc. all relative to the .purple settings directory. My 2 cents.

JohnTHaller on 2011-03-16 23:09

I think you can manually type paths into pounces that are relative. It's far easier to just click Browse and select it, though. As always, if you're a portable geek who doesn't care about leaving bits behind and are comfortable manually configuring it all and manually typing relative paths, you're fine using the guidelines.
