While many advanced functions such as synchronization and encryption are exclusive in the Pro version, the program is capable of manually importing from variety of formats including Outlook, TreePad, Google calendar etc. The program can also export to many formats including HTML, vCard, iCal, RTF, CSV, iPod, text, etc.

    Synopsis: Mozilla Thunderbird is a skinnable, feature-rich email client with support for plugins and many protocols including SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, NNTP and RSS. It comes with advanced search tools, message filtering, Bayesian spam detector, built-in spell checker, and many more.

    Thunderbird Portable is a special build optimized for use on external flash media.

    Unicode support: Partial. Thunderbird has problems creating local files with filenames that cannot be encoded using the current code page. For example, if your current code page is Chinese, but you are trying to save to a Korean filename, the output filename will be a bunch of underscore characters.

    Synopsis: i.Scribe is a small and fast email client supporting SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4, and comes with an accurate Bayesian spam filter. It also protects you from the usual security holes in other email clients with it's own virus safe HTML control and executable attachment lockout. i.Scribe is actually the free version of the commercial product InScribe, so it supports only one email account and one user-defined filter.

It handles multiple mail accounts, threaded display, junk mail filtering, security (SSL/TLSv1), search, etc. Automatically displays mail in threaded (organized by subject) format and integrates easily with Gmail.
