VLC Media Player Portable v2.0.6 Updated

webfork on 20 Apr 2013

VLC is a skinnable, feature-rich media player that supports a wide variety of multimedia file and streaming formats. It can play files while they download, from inside RAR files, online radio stations, convert video formats, and much more. The software can also behave as a streaming server for delivering video in unicast or multicast mode.

VLC Portable is a portable wrapper for VLC that is optimized for portability and execution from external flash memory. Alternatively, X-VideoLAN is also available.

i made myself portable versions of SPlayer, MPlayer WW, and PowerDVD because i dislike VLC's interface and video quality; it feels and looks unpolished.

I also downloaded PortableApp's SMPlayer, but it doesn't work for me; very rare that an app from PortableApp doesn't work. More than likely, it's the player itself that's causing the problem.

I use all of them, but in the end: i use VLC 99% of the time. I just wish the video quality was better and the interface wasn't so rough and rugged. If VLC fixed that, i could get rid of the rest.

Not a big fan of VLC, but sometimes you need a dependable portable player. This version (v2.0.1) runs great. I ran music and videos on XP, 7, and 8RP. No problems.

MPH (Media Player Hotkeys) allows you to control many popular media players from one set of global hotkeys. These applications are fully or partially supported: 1×1, AIMP, AIMP3, ALPlayer, ALSong, Billy, CoolPlayer, Foobar2000 WA, Foobar2000, KMPlayer, Light Alloy, Media Player Classic, PotPlayer, Quintessential Media Player, Screamer Radio, STP, Spider Player, Spotify, Trout, VLC, Winamp, and Windows Media Player.
