TED Notepad v6.2.1 Updated

TED Notepad is a small and fast text editor intended as a replacement for Windows notepad. The program offers a variety of interface tools including hotkeys for almost every function, ability to minimize to system tray, favorite files menu, and many more. Additionally, up to nine permanent clipboards, advanced searching, auto-completion, bi-directional editing and many text-processing functions.

@outskirter: I had the same problem while testing the latest version (MS Sans Serif font isn't really ClearType friendly); solved with ResHack by finding all instances of 'MS Sans Serif' and replacing them with 'MS Shell Dlg'...

Was testing some Notepad alternatives the other night, and while TED Notepad is relatively small in size, it uses almost 4x the memory (hovering around 9MB). Just a FYI.

QOwnNotes is a text editor / notepad replacement with markdown support and todo list manager. The program supports themes, keyboard shortcuts, syntax highlighting and encryption. Includes available nested file list, tags, search and more. Optionally works with the notes application ownCloud or Nextcloud.

Cross-platform with clients available for Mac and Linux.

Notepad3 is an feature-rich, accessible replacement for the original Windows Notepad with a variety of text modification tools for both complex text edition and programmers. The program enables code folding, bracket matching, automatic indentation, word auto-completion, character encoding conversion, multiple undo or redo, bookmarks, and regular expression-based find and replace.

The program is the unofficial successor to the Notepad2 program, built from its source code as well as Scintilla and MiniPath on code from metapath.

ripu: it has encryption+master password, more encoding options, more visual customizations, and lots of small updates/fixes. I haven't tested stealth status.

SlickRun is a floating keyword utility that allows you to create command aliases, or "MagicWords" that launch applications or URLs. For example, "browse" can be set to open Firefox, "note" to open Notepad, and more. You can type an application's path or location as well.

The program includes its own notepad program opened by typing "jot", but major applications such as MS Office and Online Shopping resources can be added using add-on packs available on the website.

SlickRun supports auto-completion, relative paths and drive letter macro for improved portability.

Note that the x32 build (sr-setup.exe) is still at version 4.3.3.2 while the x64 build (sr-setup64.exe) is at version 4.4.0.0.

CudaText is a code editor with a simple, tabbed interface and side-panels. Includes split view, code folding, hotkeys, theme support, color picker and more. The program supports 190+ syntaxes and add-ons written in Python, as well as some IDE features if plugins are used.

The program is cross-platform with clients available for Mac and Linux. Note that settings are modified via text config files (JSON format) in place of options dialogs.

To hide folding column, call "Plugins / Options Editor" and find there in DIALOG option "gutter_fold", and change it.
